We are very disappointed that you didn't enjoy your stay in one of our traditional Estate Cottages (not cabin !)
With reference to your objections:
The cottage has night storage heating (which are quite common in the UK) Sometimes our overseas guests are not accustomed to using them which is why we have full operating details in our instruction manual. In addition we have fan heaters. There is also a log fire in the living room (we provide logs & coal) This is the first time any one has complained about being cold, unfortunately you failed to mention this when we came to see you as we could have helped you out.
We clearly state on our listing that these cottages do NOT have disabled access, they are Victorian built homes which we can not alter. When you let us know that the cottage bathroom was not suitable for your disabled mother, we offered you an alternative cottage which was also unsuitable as your mother was also unable to access stairs. ( I am sure you will recall that when we came down to the cottage to welcome you to the Estate you mentioned that you wanted to cancel, as you couldn't accept the alternative offered, we said that you would have to cancel the reservation via airbnb )
Sorry you found the decor outdated but as clearly shown on our listing, this is a traditional cottage with traditional furnishings. We do show pictures of the interior for guests to see prior to their arrival.
It can also be clearly seen on our listing that we have a MODERATE cancellation policy which applies to all our cottages. We are more than happy to offer guests a refund if the accommodation does not meet the requirements in the listing and if the reasons stated for early departure are fully reasonable.
Unfortunately, Mr Jarad failed to inform us accurately why he was unhappy with the cottage so we were unable to offer a refund which was upheld by airbnb.
