This spacious basement walk-out apartment offers a cool and cozy haven in the pines for your entire family, including the dog. Full kitchen, private entrance. A fenced backyard leads to a modest-sized forested area perfect for dogs and kids. Downtown Flagstaff is a 5-minute drive.
I designed this space to be welcoming and fun, a comfortable launching pad to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and other area attractions. Fully functional kitchen, games and puzzles, an electric fireplace, comfortable seating for reading a book, watching tv, or visiting. Wireless internet, LED TV with access to netflix, and an additional tv in the bedroom with old-style vhs tapes in case your kids wish to watch something separate.
** Please note, this is a downstairs unit that is completely separated from the upstairs unit where I live with my son. We do our best but footsteps and kid noises can be heard so if you are sensitive to sounds please take this under consideration. On the other hand, if you are loud, or have loud dogs or kids, that will not bother us at all. No shushing necessary!
Guests will have access to the entire downstairs dwelling which includes a private patio and lower deck to enjoy our incredible Flagstaff seasons. Additionally, there is a large playset/playhouse in the backyard, and a gate that leads to a forested area where you can walk your dog or just enjoy a leisurely stroll and some bird watching before breakfast... as well as a grade school soccer field and playground that can be accessed after school hours.
As we live just upstairs, I would be happy to help you out in whatever way I can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. However, I am sometimes traveling myself or working away from home, so I can't guarantee I will be there during your stay.
I know that many people like to travel with their kids and dogs, and I've tried to create a space that is both clean and comfortable, as well as offering outdoor access. The space is fairly large - 850 sq ft - and it has low ceilings but big windows and good lighting. I have tried to accommodate as many people as I think can comfortably share the space. There is a king bed, a full futon (in the main room), and a very comfortable queen-sized air mattress that can be placed in either the bedroom or main room, as needed. Upon request, additional beds can be made up for extra kids, allowing you to avoid paying for multiple hotel rooms. A pack 'n' play is available for your use as well. We would love your feedback to help make this a retreat you would recommend to others and want to come back to as well. Please note that there is an additional fee if you wish to bring your dog: $20/night for one dog, $10/night for each additional dog. These fees are negotiable depending on the types of dogs you have.
Check-in is after 3 PM
If you need to check in early, just ask and I'll do my best to accommodate you!
Please note: there is an extra fee of $20/night if you wish to bring your dog; an additional $10/night fee for each additional dog. These fees are negotiable depending on the types of dogs you have. Service dogs are most welcome.
We hope you feel at home in our vacation rental, and we will make every effort to moderate our noise level upstairs and provide what you need -- but please be aware that 8-year-olds are loud. That being said, we ask that you please let us know right away if it gets too loud. Communication is key, and I think it's one of the many benefits of Airbnb.
PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANY FEMININE PRODUCTS, DISPOSABLE WIPES, OR ANY OTHER TRASH OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER DOWN THE TOILETS (IT WILL STOP UP THE SEWAGE)!!
Hi. I've lived in Flagstaff for 10 out of the last 13 years. I love to ski - both cross country and alpine - so I make the most of being only 30 minutes from Snowbowl. My son likes to ski with me, and we also hike, mountain bike, and travel when we can. Flagstaff is a great place to live, and we mostly like to spend time with friends and enjoy the outdoors. There's also a great Pho restaurant in our neighborhood that we both enjoy. We have two small dogs who love to go for walks but mostly hang out quietly inside in their favorite little patches of sunlight.
I lived in France for a year, as well as Japan, and I've traveled all over Europe. I haven't been to Mexico in several years, but we are hoping to make it there sometime soon. Locally, I find Sedona and the Grand Canyon to be two of the most amazing places I've ever been! And I like that there are plenty of cool things to see and do around Flagstaff, like Montezuma Well and Castle, Walnut Canyon, Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course, Wupatki National Monument, Lowell Observatory, and Sunset Crater. And if you like to ski, mountain bike, or hike, the sky's the limit!
