My home is close & convenient to all attractions of the Hudson Valley. It is in an urban area (not rural). It will be easy to relax here after a day of sightseeing.
The kitchen is fully equipped. In March, I had new counter-tops and backsplash installed. Please be mindful by using cutting boards, placemats and hot mats that are in eyes view. The dining area has a large table. The bedrooms & bathrooms are on the second floor. Be advised : for the less mobile, this home has both bathrooms upstairs, therefore not wheel chair accessible. Also Please Note: You will have to walk through the small twin bedded room to get to the master bedroom. A laundry room is next to the kitchen and a clothesline is available should you prefer to use fresh air and sunshine. You can watch TV in the den or relax with a quiet conversation in the living room by the fireplace.
The deck offers a table, chairs & a grill if you would like to have a cookout. Your morning coffee can be enjoyable on the front porch.
Off street parking is available in the driveway. If you bring your bikes, you're welcome to store them in my garage.
You will have full access to my home. There is closet space and dresser space in the front bedroom for clothes. There's a couple empty closets under the bar in kitchen if you need to store dry goods. I have decorative hooks on the doors upstairs to hang additional clothing items. There is a a coat tree at the back entry for frequently used jackets and/or hats during your stay .
I will be here to meet you on arrival. If I'm not in town, my daughter or a friend of mine will be available for any questions or needs during your stay. We are a short distance away. You will have our phone numbers .
Dishwasher available with instructions.
I appreciate your use of hot mats on the dining table. It is solid oak, therefore will leave marks if hot dishes are placed on it. Also, please use mats and cutting board on kitchen counters.
I leave my shoes at the door & wear socks or flip flops to keep the floors clean for you. It is not a requirement of my guests but you can feel comfortable knowing that I keep the outdoors where is belongs. Slippers are welcome.
I am a professional and native Kingstonian. Having lived here all of my life, I can assure you that the Hudson Valley is a place you will want to revisit.
My husband and I bought this house in 1966. When I became widowed,I thought maybe I would sell it and move to a smaller house. We raised our daughters here and I decided there was no reason to leave the happy memories behind. Now I'm happy I didn't make a quick decision so that you can enjoy the good vibrations. The stairs squeak a little but it makes you know its been around awhile.
As the former owner of a local travel agency, I was a frequent traveler. I knew what my customers looked for when they left the comforts of their own home. Now I look forward to offering those comforts and conveniences in my home. I hope you enjoy my home and the relaxing atmosphere that it offers.
