This centrally located studio apartment is an art and rainbow filled hideaway on the one "urban" block of Boise. Step out the door and you have multiple places to eat and drink, farmers market on Saturday, and event venues nearby. Full kitchen. Geothermal hot water. Cozy and peaceful sanctuary.
This studio apartment has the amenities of home and is full of original art and crystals. A comfortable queen bed sleeps two and a futon chair folds down into another twin bed if more people are staying.
This is a safe sanctuary space for quiet reflection and also a great home-base for those who want to be in the middle of downtown. There is a table space, comfortable for meals or working on a computer.
There is no tv or wi-fi in the studio. You can easily find dependable wi-if in the Thomas Hammer cafe on the first floor of the building.
Private, comfortable, and clean, this is a delightful downtown Boise get-away and home base for an active downtown experience.
A washer and dryer that takes quarters is on the floor adjacent to the stairway if you need to do your laundry.
Door code to entrance is 6620* after hours.
I will meet you to let you in to the apartment and give you the key. I work just a block away and live five minutes away so am available for anything you need and can be called anytime. I'll connect with you when you leave to lock up and make sure your stay was a good one.
Parking downtown can be found either at metered street spaces (must pay 8am - 6pm but not on weekends) or parking garages, but be prepared to pay a little for a secure parking space in a garage if you need that. There are several parking garages in downtown Boise that are easy to use.
During the week garbage pick-ups occur around 6am and can be loud. On the weekend there is sometimes noise from boisterous downtown revelers. Closing the window helps to block sound. Ear plugs are good if you are a sensitive sleeper.
No pets, drugs, smoking, or parties. Be respectful of the apartment and the building. Treat this sanctuary as a sacred space and it will, in turn, bring you peace. Be mindful of your neighbors below and adjacent.

I am the Cultural Planner for the Boise City Department of Arts & History. I also am an adjunct professor teaching creativity and design thinking skills at Boise State University. A native of Boise, Idaho, I'm an active visual artist who graduated from University of Oregon in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. I work in many mediums including stained glass, encaustic painting, ceramics, printmaking and collage. In 2011 I became a founding board member for Surel's Place, an Artist-in-Residency program. In 2008 I completed my Masters in Public Administration and Graduate Certificate for Regional and Community Planning at BSU with a focus on cultural policy and planning. I love to travel and see new cities, especially those with interesting museums, architecture, and landscapes.
My husband Robert Engbers is a former high-school history teacher who loves to read and smoke his pipe. Robert, a native New Yorker, is well-versed in American history and enjoys a good discussion about American politics. His undergraduate degree is from NYU in politics and his masters degree is in history from the City University of New York in Queens. He is the primary on the ground host and is home much of the time. He loves to cook, read, and do home-improvement projects.
