Sleeps 2 to 4 persons. This is lovely 2 bed apartment in the heart of Edinburgh, newly renovated, bright and spacious and in an excellent Southside location (very close to the Meadows). A contemporary and comfortable lounge, 2 spacious double bedrooms, designer kitchen, new bathroom and separate WC. Linens, towels and Wi-fi included!

In terms of house rules, you'll find a comprehensive welcome pack detailing all the features, wifi code and workings of the apartment.

On a personal note, we simply ask guests to treat the apartment with respect, to be careful when bringing in/out luggage, to wash up all pots / pans, dishes, etc. and place all rubbish in the black bags (provided) and place in the large black bins on the street.

We also ask that one of the staying guests is 25 years + and would politely ask the 'lead guest' (if requested) to provide some verification of name / proof of address (drivers licence, passport and/or copy of utility bill).

One of the 2 toilets operates with a 'Saniflow' waste unit which is sensitive to what is put down, i.e. foreign objects will block it. Clear instructions are posted in the flat.

This is a 'no smoking' and 'no pets please' apartment.

Nothing but good things to say about this apartment. We stayed for two months to work at the University of Edinburgh, and Jason's place was perfect. The apartment has to be seen to be believed: beautiful high ceilings, great views of Arthur's Seat, a large bathroom and helpful second washroom, complete and large kitchen. We really enjoyed the apartment and would highly recommend it. The area is perfect. If you like running, as we do, Holyrood Park's six kilometre loop is about 800 metres away, and the Meadows are just steps from the apartment. The university is no more than a ten minute walk, as are many of the main attractions of Edinburgh's old town. There are many grocery stores and other essentials near the apartment. We had been to Edinburgh several times, but we still discovered new favourites like South Pour and the Royal Dick at Summerhall (both minutes away from Jason's place). Jason himself is a highly capable, friendly, and accommodating host. He answered all of our questions prior to renting and arriving, and was there to greet us with a smile and a comprehensive, short tour of the neighbourhood. A last bonus: the apartment is the top floor of a quiet building in a quiet area. This was a must for us on renting, and the apartment did not disappoint. We will be back in Edinburgh and we plan on staying here again.

The apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures and there was a nice view of Arthur's Seat from the living room and one of the bedrooms. All the things listed in the description were there and they worked well. For our stay of 6 weeks, this was a great place. It's located so that you can easily get around Edinburgh by bus or by walking if you so choose. However, the apartment is up a flight of stairs. Great for exercise, but maybe not for people who are not that fond of stairs (and we were not...but it was alright :D ). Jason was an amazing host. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (even helped me with retrieving my lost bag). He gave us a list of things to do in Edinburgh and gave us a short tour of the neighbourhood when we arrived. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

High ceilings, spacious, well located, comfortable beds and clean. Fireplace only worked on the 3rd day of our stay, there is no water pressure - probably the worst shower experience I've ever had. And we got charged GP$20 upon arrival. (Read their check-in policy, please!)

Oh Monique! That's a little unfair, there is a fee for 'late check-in' which is clearly stated (most guests do check this) and please bear in mind you also arrived at 20 past midnight (you having taken a later train than originally advised) so I got to bed at 1 am that night! Yes, the gas fireplace is 'switched off' in the summer, but I was around within 30 mins of your call to Airbnb (why didn't you just text me?) and I switched this on for you (BTW the flat was 'roasting' when I went around, 26 degrees on the room thermostat. The fireplace is really just a 'feature', but all future guests please note that it's now 'on' whether summer or winter. The shower,admittedly, is not an 'American high pressure shower' but is still is very serviceable (i.e. no complaints from our current guests). I would like to add that I assisted Monique during her stay with tips and suggestions and also helped with her 'very heavy' luggage upstairs on arrival and departure (N.B Monique was still at the apartment at 1pm even though check out was 11am). Sometimes there's really no pleasing, but I'll leave future guests to decide on the accuracy and validity of Monique's feedback here!
