8 Steps to a private beach. Newly renovated with full kitchen, new queen bed, very private, big water's edge deck, unhindered views of Broughton Strait and the passing marine traffic and wildlife.
Leave the space clean and tidy. Shoes discouraged.
Lovely well-equipped little cottage right at waters edge - waves lull you to sleep at night and birds wake you up in the morning. Super comfy bed allows for a good night's sleep and morning lounging with coffee watching the ferry go by. James was a charming and responsive host, messaging us when there was interesting wildlife to see (porpoises! a bear on the beach!). The thoughtful small touches were very much appreciated - a shoe horn by the door (great for my slip on hiking boots) and a full length mirror outside the bathroom. We can't imagine a better place to stay on northern Vancouver Island.
James is a lovely host and made sure everything was just right for our stay. We came to see wildlife and he sent us texts when a bald eagle landed next to the cabin and when a black bear could be seen on a far away beach. He was kind and generous as well as discrete. We loved going to sleep with the sound of the Pacific Ocean lapping up against the cabin and watching the sunset right outside.
This cottage is in an absolutely magical location on the beach. Inside it is comfortable, clean, fresh and nicely decorated. James has stocked it with everything a guest could possibly want. The kitchen is so well equipped you could prepare a five-course meal if you wanted to. The best airbnb experience I've ever had!
We loved, loved, LOVED this cottage! We wanted to write our review after we returned from our 10 days in BC. Out of the 4 places we stayed at on our trip, we honestly loved James' cottage the most! It was completely quiet and peaceful and the view was absolutely amazing! James was a very communicative and gracious host and everything we could want or need, the cottage had. The location was perfect to explore the northern part of the island and it was very convenient to all of the towns up there, including Telegraph Cove and Port Hardy. The only thing we regret is that we couldn't stay longer but we would really like to return sometime in the future, especially as past guests saw whales from the cottage and apparently, Orcas were sighted from the cottage the day we left! Thanks for everything James! We'll be back...!!!
