A few years ago we began to restore this 1892 house, built atop a hill by the first mayor of West Bethlehem. Now we are ready to welcome guests! Our home is centrally located on a street without much traffic, a 10-minute walk to the restaurants and shops of historic Bethlehem.
The first owner of our home loved pocket doors! There is beautiful woodwork throughout the house and we are currently in the process of bringing out the original beauty of the house. You will stay in a comfortable bedroom on the second floor with access to your own bathroom. The guest room has a window air conditioner.
You can enjoy our porch overlooking South Mountain (including the Star of Bethlehem). You will have access to your own bathroom.
We enjoy hearing from our guest where they are from and what their plans are. We are happy to give you advice on the area!
Our tap water is filtered. We are still in the process of restoring the home so you might notice places in the house in need of work. The guest room, of course, has been updated!
I grew up in the Netherlands, lived in Germany for eight years and have been in the United States since 2004. I am a historian and love to research and to write but I also like to try out Indonesian recipes and to bake German pastries.
