Sunhine pours into the south-facing living room, and it's really peaceful, though only minutes from the great bars and Michelin-starred restaurants of Leith's Shore area. Regular buses take about 10-15 mins to Edinburgh city centre. Private parking.
I have lived in this flat for over ten years now and I love it. It's a cosy, bright, comfortable space that is in a really great location. I'm a visual artist, and the flat has lots of original artworks for you to enjoy. The bedroom and living room are really quiet and sunny, facing due south over the private car park.
If you are here for work, the big south-facing window makes the living room a great work-space. I’ve written a master’s thesis and a PhD in here! There's superfast broadband, wifi connection and a desk space for your laptop. Or just chill out and recover from exploring the city in this peaceful room. There's a digital radio, cable TV, DVD player and iPod dock on the TV, games in the cupboard and a selection of books.
I like to cook, so the kitchen is well-equipped. Enjoy a lazy breakfast at the kitchen dining table with coffee and fresh bread from the bread-machine, or pop over to the Hideaway, RockSalt or Printworks Coffee, for great pastries and croissants. Leith is a foodie’s paradise - step out the door and choose from one of the many fantastic restuarants and bars within a few minutes walk.
If you need to do some laundry while you are here, there's a washing machine and a drying cupboard in the hallway, and an ironing board and iron. If you are travelling with little ones, in the hallway cupboard there is also a travel cot, booster chair, a potty and a toilet seat, and a kick step for help reaching the taps on the bathroom sink.
In fine weather, you can sit outside in my little sun-trap alcove with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and enjoy my roses blooming in the summer. I often sit out in this sheltered spot for a cup of coffee and say hello to passing neighbours.
We will be contactable by email or telephone during your stay.
There are communal recycling bins in the street for mixed recycling, food waste, and glass. I have separate bins in the flat for these, so please do your bit and use them as labelled.
If killer heels are your thing, please don't walk on my hardwood floors in your stilettos!
I have lovely friendly neighbours, so please don't disturb them by being too noisy, especially when coming and going on the communal stair late at night or early mornings. Do say hello, though!
- If guests lock themselves out of the property OR they do not place keys in the lockbox at checkout, a £50 fee will apply. If a guest loses a set of keys during their stay, an £80 fee will apply.

I'm a visual artist, writer and university lecturer and have lived in Edinburgh for many years before moving with my partner to live on Orkney. I still go back and forth between the two - an ideal mix of peaceful island life and city living in Leith, where I still have many friends.
