I have travelled all around the world, but never ever have I had such a great accommodation as at Carol's house in Longfield. My brother had surgery at the local hospital, and during this period we stayed at Carol's place - a farmhouse just outside Longfield. Carol is honestly the best host in the world. She made us feel so welcome at her house, and she even drove us around Longfield. The roads in Longfield are very narrow, so getting around on foot is not so easy, but Carol offered to drive us when we needed to leave the house, which is more than you could expect of a AirBnB host. If you love animals, this is definitely the place to go! Carol has nine lovely dogs and 22 horses, so we spent some time in the evening petting all the dogs, drinking tea and talking with Carol.
The house facilities are great too. The rooms are nice, the mattresses are very comfortable and everything is nice and clean. And the breakfast Carol cooked was amazing! We were offered everything -cereal, oatmeal, juice, tea/coffee, bacon, egg (fresh from the hens in the garden), toast, and sausages.
Longfield is nice little town with different kinds of restaurants and shops. We took a trip to London for one day. We bought a return ticket including free access to the underground for 15£, and it is only a 30 minutes ride on the train, so that was very quick and convenient.
We had 5 perfect days at Carol's. If you need a place to stay, this is definitely the place to go. Not only do you get great accommodation, but you also get to meet the warmest, nicest and most inspiring elderly woman in the world! Her care for us was way beyond what you could expect for an airBnB host. I would love to go back again some day.
