In picturesque Prince Edward County, 3 hrs from Toronto or Ottawa, 4 hrs from Montreal. Wineries, fine dining, shopping, farmers markets and road side stands, small cheese factories and the world's largest freshwater sand dunes at Sandbanks.
A Relaxing retreat in Prince Edward County, the cabin sits in a secluded tranquil natural setting on 16 acres. It is completely private and shares the acreage with our home, with total privacy. The cabin (approximately 16X12) is a stand-alone building with one room, queen size bed, bathroom and a screened in porch. Here you will enjoy the peacefulness and the sights and sounds of nature. There is an outdoor camp style covered kitchen which is equipped with a camp stove, bbq, wash sink and utensils. Inside there is a small fridge with a freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. There is also a fire pit for evening camp fires (when permitted by the fire Marshall-we offer firewood wood at $5). The bathroom consists of a composting toilet and a sink and a hot water shower using heated rain water. The cabin has electrical service. We offer a space heater for our autum guests at your request.
We are on one of the best cycling routes on the island, there are lots of walking trails, fishing and swimming nearby. We are located across from Half Moon Bay Winery and you can walk over to their sales barn and sample their wines. We can provide bikes (please bring your own helmets) to explore this south east corner of the island where it is relatively flat and you can follow the shore line, there is minimal traffic. Sandbanks Park is a short drive away where you can spend a day at the beach . A cooler and park pass are available upon request at no additional charge.
Your accommodations are in a cabin close to our home, but out of sight from each other. Should you require any assistance we will be available during your stay. We would be happy to assist with directions to the local wineries and restaurants, or any other inquiries you may have.
The county is famous for its many wineries and fine dining. The main town of Picton offers shopping, boutiques, groceries, as well as a small theater, beer and LCBO stores.
The beach at Sandbanks boasts the largest fresh water sand dunes in the world and as mentioned, to avoid line ups and fees we will share our pass at no charge, should you loose our pass there will be a recovery charge from your security deposit.
Our price includes; potable water, fuel supply for camp stove and BBQ, fire-pit (wood can be purchased at a nominal price).(fires when permitted). Our closest village is Milford, ten minutes away. There is a small eatery/general store. If you plan on arriving late we suggest you fuel your vehicle in Picton as there are no closer gas stations and get any groceries you may need, as most stores close early. The cabin can only accomodate two people, space is limited. If you bring an infant or child, you must bring your own bedding for the child. As a rule additional guests are not permitted. however, you may contact us for special arrangements.
Please, there are no pets allowed and there is no smoking in the cabin or in the screened in porch. Should you smoke you must extinguish and dispose of cigarette butts properly. We will provide a battery type lantern for your convenience as there are no candles allowed. We are in a small rural area, we ask you to respect the residence in the area and keep noise to a minimum as sound carries in the country. Please respect our check out times as we require time to clean and prepare for incoming guests. There is no daily maid service, however the space will be clean for your arrival. As for infants or children we do not have bedding for them, you would have to bring your own.

We are retired and we moved to the county from Richmond Hill, Ontario, in 2010. We enjoy the outdoors and nature. We hope that you will enjoy our precious county and love it as much as we do.
