'Gabe'.....(huge fan of Thomas Hardy!) hasn't traveled far in in the last 120 years, Salisbury to Godshill in fact. But the things he has seen would fill a weighty tome. Having been restored sympathetically using the farmers mantra, if it's laid there use it, he is now resting on our small holding in the heart of the New Forest, ready to welcome you to the shelter that he provided for the shepherds and newborn lambs during bleak winters over the last century.
You are going to be welcomed onto a working new forest small holding, we are commoners, our forest ponies wander in and out of the yard as and when they choose, there are chicken wandering around from early morning till they are ready to roost, we also raise pigs and sheep all dependant on the season
We have dedicated an intimate area for you in addition to the main accommodation, immediately outside the hut you have a fire pit area for relaxing well into the evening, through the garden towards the cottage there is a cosy area for bbqing and then onto the Veranda for under cover, yet still alfresco eating, this links into the wash house which is equipped with a shower and loo which will be dedicated to you.
We want your stay to be a real experience so, if there's anything we could do to make that possible then we'll do it! We can certainly point you in the direction of the best pub!
This is real, not an idle, the countryside here is a working environment, hence the landscape flora and fauna, the cockerel will crow, the donkeys bray and the cattle low, chainsaws and tractors abound, we are not off grid, however five minutes walk and you will lose yourself in the tranquility of the New Forest National Park that's there to be discovered.
