Close to everything - parks, entertainment, restaurants, nightlife, museums -- all in walking distance. The Walk Score value is 96, which makes it a "Walker's paradise."
UPSTAIRS apartment in duplex building with two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a spacious (240 square feet; 22 square meters) quiet bedroom with private bath. It is in the back of the house, away from street noise. It has a TV (but no cable TV), VCR, stereo, and broadband Wi-Fi. The King-size bed is 76 inches wide (a regular double bed is only 54"), so it is suitable for two adults with a child, for example. There is room under the bed to store suitcases. The bedroom has a walk-in closet with lots of storage options and clothes hangers. A floor mattress can accommodate an additional person. The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, sink, and bathtub with shower.
Bedroom 2 is a 100 SF small bedroom with a single bed and a trundle bed (pulls out from under the single bed). So the two beds are not at the same height. This works great for a parent and child, for example, but not so much for a couple. There are some personal belongings in this bedroom, but you'll have empty drawers/shelves to store your stuff. This bedroom is comfortable for one person, and can feel crowded for two adults.
The living room has a 2-person sofa bed. It's quite comfortable for two children or one adult and a child. Two adults will find it quite narrow.
I do not recommend the use of floor mattresses as they will take away floor space. I make them available in case a larger family or group would like to stay together and don't mind compromised comfort.
There is a second bathroom with toilet, shower, and sink.
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove/oven, fridge, coffee maker, dishwasher, espresso maker, toaster, pots and pans, utensils, coffee, tea.
PLEASE NOTE: The place IS suitable for infants. When booking, please select "Child"for the infant. The Airbnb system excludes infants from the extra person charge; I, however, do require the extra guest fee for infants in order to compensate for the cost of utilities, trash, potential noise, etc.
The apartment is on the second floor, accessed by an outside staircase, 22 steps up. There are outdoor patios around the house, which are nice places to hang out in the summer, or for a smoke/drink. There is a shared washer/dryer in the basement; access code will be provided upon request. Please indicate during your booking if you need parking. The parking space is on an 18-degree slope. It will work fine for a sedan, minivan, or SUV, but it is not large enough for oversized trucks.
You determine how much privacy or interaction you desire. I'm available by phone/text/email anytime for help or guidance, and in person in the evenings and most weekends. I've lived in Seattle for almost 30 years, so I know the city and the state very well, and would be happy to share some insider's tips.
You will enter the unit by using a code - no key is needed.
There are six supermarkets within walking distance. The nearest and largest one is a 4-minute walk away, and is open 24-hours a day, all year.
NO SMOKING inside the unit. You can smoke cigarettes/cigars/pot outside.
It is strictly prohibited to illegally download protected content using Owner's WiFi. Comcast monitors downloads and provides immediate notification to Owner.
Quiet hours 10 PM - 7 AM, unless otherwise arranged. You may quietly enjoy the patio into the late hours.
To prevent damage to the unit below, NO WATER on the floor, ever, please. It is especially important to observe this in the bathroom.
Please note: NO OVERNIGHT GUESTS in addition to the number covered by the booking.
CONSERVE ENERGY. Do not heat when windows are open. Do not waste water.
The washer and dryer are available for guests' use 7 am - 9 pm on weekdays, and 9 am - 9 pm on weekends.
The small patio outside the apartment's entry door, on top of the stairs, has a load limit of 400 lb (180 kg). No more than 2 persons are allowed on that patio/stairs at any given moment. Please use the ground level patios instead to enjoy the outside.
