We had a really great stay at Jim's place!
Things I loved about it:
-- Jim's place is located in a great location for traveling to other parts of the city. We were all over San Francisco during the weekend that we stayed here and all of our Ubers back to Jim's place were extremely reasonable.
-- Jim's place was also very clean and he goes out of his way to be accommodating. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, soap, and extra towels were located in the dresser.
-- Jim left a guidebook on the coffee table with a ton of recommendations for where to eat. We ended up walking around the neighborhood and found an amazing ramen place. This place was perfect for a short trip to San Francisco.
-- There are tons of restaurants and stores in walking distance. If you're looking for unique and adventurous places to eat, you'll definitely find them in this neighborhood. There's also a corner store across the intersection for any quick things you may need to pick up, as well as a drug store and grocery store in walking distance.
-- Cable TV is a huge plus. At the end of our days exploring SF, we were exhausted and happy to find that the tv was easy to use and had a guide feature.
-- The key code access is SO GREAT. I loved not worrying about a key that could be lost or stolen.
-- Jim is great at prompt, friendly communication. I let him know when we checked in and checked out and his responses were very fast and helpful.
Notes that will hopefully help future guests:
-- Parking is hard to find here and the meters are active on Saturdays. We had a rental car and had to move it 2-3 times to avoid tickets. The stress of finding parking in this area was very real, so be prepared to circle looking for spots.
-- Jim's front door is slightly difficult to find. The door is not visible from the street and the stairs that lead to the outer hallway where the door is located are not obvious. I suggest reading Jim's description of how to locate the door multiple times in order to avoid accidentally trying the wrong door.
-- I would not recommend Jim's place for high maintenance travelers. Jim's place is perfect for what it is - conveniently located, just enough space, and clean. If you're looking for tons of privacy, space, or frills, this unit isn't for you. The walls are thin in this building and there are at least 6 other units in it. There's enough space for luggage here, but it's a 1-bedroom so it would be difficult to accommodate kids and guests.
