The Knotty Pine Cabin is very secluded, located 1/4 mile down a gravel road off of Highway 108, yet still just minutes away from markets, lakes, scenic hikes, and skiing in the winter months. This peaceful cabin is a perfect hideaway nestled on 1.4 acres in the Stanislaus National Forest, midway between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. Being off the beaten path provides a relaxing destination for friends and family to unwind, relax and connect with nature.
The Knotty Pine cabin is a great place to relax, unwind and unplug. We do not have cable/internet/phone service, however Verizon and AT&T phone service usually works. We have a blue-ray DVD player, Wii, and a large variety of movies and board games. Begin the day with coffee, tea or cocoa on the deck, and end the night with s'mores under the stars.

The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove. Firewood will be provided for the duration of your stay. Parents of young children, please note the stove is not enclosed.
NO FIRES in the fireplace OR the Fire-pit during Summer Months
A Gas BBQ and a Portable BBQ is provided. Use the portable BBQ to cook hotdogs or s'mores, old-school style, in the gravel area. The portable BBQ is located in the garage. Briquettes are not provided. Extinguish fully.
Stargazers: Two pairs of binoculars are located in the cupboard above the fridge.
Rainy Days: Two umbrellas are also located above the fridge. Please return borrowed items after use. Thanks.
Please use caution when driving up to the cabin, as children may be at play. You may also see wild peacocks and a potbelly pig that may roam & play during the day.
Quiet and secluded cabin. However if you hear a strange bird-like sounds, don't be alarmed, it's probably the neighbors peacock.
The Knotty Pine is located on a private road, and the cabin is the second property on the right. Day time arrivals are recommended.
If the doors are locked for the night, and someone walks out the door without unlocking first, you will be locked out. I recommend leaving one of the keys in the lock-box just in case, or keeping a key or code with you.
The cabin is on a septic system (well water). Laundry results are best when using cold water & removing promptly from the washing machine. Please note: Due to minerals in the well water, whites may not come out as bright as normal.
Turn on water if you would like to use the ice machine & filtered water via the fridge. The water knob is located on the wall behind the fridge (pull fridge out slightly to access). Bottled water may be preferred (not provided).
