A perfect home for weary travelers to relax in the evenings after long days' exploration of Mumbai. A Red Agra Carved Stone bungalow is copy of havellis of Rajasthan of ancient times. The bungalow has 2 floors, ground floor has 4 bedrooms, first floor has 3 bedrooms, 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms occupied by me, your host. The bungalow colony of 100 plots has many trees and birds so it has quiet, cool hillstation atmosphere, yet accessible to any corner of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai by Eastern Freeway

The home hidden away among the large trees has a special charm, yet is modern enough with all the facilities. Each of the bedrooms have 2 to 3 beds with mattresses but the charges are given per single person so even half a room can be booked at low rates. The Monorail, Mysore Colony Stop is about 10 minutes away that takes one to Chembur station on one end and Wadala on other end. The Eastern Freeway has a RCF junction a few minutes away. One can go to South Mumbai on one end and the other end goes to Navi Mumbai, North Western Suburbs as well as connects to Santacruz- Chembur link road to reach Santacruz and Bandra -Kurla Complex as well as Bandra Reclamation. BEST buses takes one to Kurla, Chembur and Ghatkoper Stations. Ofcourse taxis and rickshaws are a call away. It is good to live in an environmentally place and work, travel to various places of Mumbai easily.

This place is independent of the owners, the owners stay on the second floor while the 3 bedrooms, hall, kitchen flat for the guests is on the first floor and 4bhk flat is on Ground floor, so there is no interference from the owners. The flat is completely furnished with essential stuff and aesthetically collected paintings and artifacts. The guests have access to the modern kitchen where they can cook VEGETARIAN meal if they are inclined, there is a dinning space with 6 chairs that is used for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a 400 open terrace that is the place for pets as well is the only smoking zone in the home. There is background music at home as there are hundreds of birds who provide the background music for many hours. The pets are restricted to the terrace and there is separate entrance for them as their fur should not be on my furniture and furnishings. The professional people charge a minimum of Rs 5000/- that is the Security Deposit that is paid on arrival in case the pet/s are brought home.

I would love to interact with you, my guests, if you have the inclination. You, the guests stay on ground and first floor of the Bungalow while I stay on second floor so you are most welcome to come up for a chat and few laughs or recommendations about my city. Any guidance/ information/knowledge that I am capable of giving I will happily share. The guests, you have your privacy and there would be no interference from my side as long as the House Rules are followed. I also respect your privacy so the choice is entirely yours, my guests. We can certainly share a few laughs anytime. You have to sign the resister on your arrival and hand over xerox of your identity documents for the inspection of Maharashtra Tourism.

Let us live by what is reasonable, considerate of other guests who are present and who will come later, leaving wet footprints is a very selfish act for example as well remains as your last meal on the bed is an absolute no-no. Can we use the dinning table for food instead of leaving sad stains on my white sheets. People happily leave turmeric and oil stains but would frown if such linen, stained by earlier guests is spread out for them and make long comments in the review later, not fair...

We would like to live well, be happy and keep our distances so that we do not disturb the other guests, but sharing a few laughs is always welcome.

This is a family space so no alcohol, drugs and other illegal activities are permitted.

Loud music is also not welcome as it disturbs other guests and senior citizens who are our our neighbours.

Please order vegetarian food at home to preserve the sanctity of the place, you may have any preference outside.

Smoking, if essential, should be only in the open terrace or garden and not in the rooms, especially bathrooms, as other guests have to use the same facilities later. Live with harmony among guests and Nature.
Smoking can be done in the terrace, garden and not inside the house.

All pets are strictly in the terrace only, no fur is to found inside the home or there is a cleaning fee of Rs 5000/-. The Rs 5,000/- security to be paid in the beginning of the stay, refundable if pet has not come into the home area or soiled the terrace. Pets, if they come home are restricted to the terrace as the fur should not be all over the place and the other guests may not love them as much as you do. There is a terrace so pets are welcome if they are house trained. The responsibility of taking care of the pets and their not littering the place lies entirely with the owner of the pet. In case it is littered then immediately the owner will have to clean up. The house help will not clean up.

All prices of rooms are on per bed basis so that you do not pay extra for unused spaces. If two or more persons are traveling together then separate bookings are essential, even though 2 or 3 persons as first, second or third guest are in the same room. Others are in a separate room.

The whole bungalow has hot and cold water round the clock, a rarity in Mumbai. The hot water is solar powered so may be in the cloudy or rainy days it may not be effective.

The check in times are flexible but no help is available so self checking is possible with prior notice so keys can be made available for the odd hours.

Guests are requested to carry their Valid photo IDs. Please carry your original identity papers and the xerox copies of the same. The xerox copies will be submitted to me immediately on arrival for Registrar Book maintained for Dept for Maharashtra Tourism.

Guests come home as Gods' representatives, be reasonable, try being a giver too, not just a taker, compromise, there are other guests too, be eco-friendly, water, electricity everything is available but respect them. Put them off when not in use, it is free for you but the farmer in some farm is desperate as neither electricity nor water reaches him, as the cities steal them from his backyard.

There are waste containers in each room. Please place all your waste in the container. The helpers are humans too, do not humiliate them by littering the whole space with tissue papers, plastic bags, plastic bottles, all varieties of paper, rotting food, child's diapers (and adult diapers too). The waste is collected at about 8 am every morning so if there is too much waste, make a trip to the ground floor and leave your garbage outside the 2nd gate of the bungalow where the car is parked and society staff will decompose what is possible and dispose the rest. Admire the living plants on your way back!!!

We like to live well, be happy and keep our distances so that we do not disturb the guests, but sharing a few laughs is always welcome.

This is a family space so no alcohol, drugs and other illegal activities would be permitted. If caught you would have to leave immediately and no refund will be done for remaining period as rules are violated.

Loud music is also not welcome.

Please order vegetarian food at home to preserve the sanctity of the place, you may have any preference outside.

All prices of rooms are on per bed basis so that you do not pay extra for unused spaces. Pay only what you use why pay for 2 beds in a room though you are single unless you are keen on having the entire room to yourself and do not like the presence of another strange human. In that case you would have to book the same room for 1st as well as second guest, maybe third as well!!

The whole bungalow has hot and cold water round the clock, a rarity in Mumbai. The hot water is solar powered so may be in the cloudy or rainy days it may not be effective.

The check in times are flexible but no help is available so self checking is possible with prior notice so that the keys can be made available. You have to welcome your self in this Krishna Mansion.

This space is my home not a 5 star hotel at a discounted price. If you are searching for a home away from home then this is the place but it is not a perfect place with antiseptic touch, I am an environmentalist who enjoys living with Nature and natural surroundings.

Guests are requested to carry their Valid photo IDs. Please carry your original identity papers and the xerox copies of the same. The xerox copies will be submitted to me, your host, immediately on arrival to the premises and signing in the Registrar Book is essential as it has to be maintained for Dept for Maharashtra Tourism.

This review is for a room on the ground floor of Anjani's bungalow. We reached at around 10:30 pm and were asked to choose from two separate rooms. Both rooms had equally dirty bathrooms. One of the rooms didn't even have a bed, just a mattress with dirty sheets (which we had to force the caretaker to change.) Once the new sheets were applied, we settled into this room. This is when we started to see the downsides. To start with, the room has no privacy. There's a huge window with no curtains that anyone can see through exposing the entire room. Apparently there's wifi but we never got a password from the caretaker despite him telling us that he would provide it (he was very forgetful.) Speaking of privacy, good luck getting in and out of this room. The door to the room has to be broken down with excessive force to open. There's another door to the room on the other side and we were given a key after asking 4-6 times. However, we later found the key was useless as this door as well wasn't equipped with a working lock. Coming back to the washroom.. The washroom has a window that looks out to the entrance of the house. However, beware.. There is no actual glass or covering. It is just a hole in the wall. Anyone can peep into the washroom as long as they're atleast 4-5 ft tall. We had to use one of the towels to completely cover up the hole in the wall (which was supposed to be a window.) This washroom also doesn't have a geyser. On the last morning before we left, we also had zero water. Having already been let down with everything here, we just decided to pack up and leave. This was quite possibly the worst airbnb stay I've ever had and will never return to this listing again.

Raunak, Firstly when you come to a new place you should come at a reasonable time. You wanted to party and come at about 12 am. I told you I will leave the keys outside and you can find the place without disturbing the other guests. The one room with the mattress is called Indian Baithak and is an Indian style of sleeping. there is a good 7 inch thick mattress on a very expensive Kashmiri carpet. Many people select this room to have a change of scene and sleep close to Mother Nature, but one has to be open to changes in life to enjoy the beauty of something unusual. The fresh sheets were unnecessary as already clean set of sheets and towels were put in place but to satisfy your ego Gopal changed the sheets at 11.30 at night, long after his duty hours and your demands at the unearthly hours were too many. If you have so many demands you should come early at about 6 pm or so. Raunak you did not see that the glass is opaque with bamboo design on the glass. All bed room windows have expensive opaque glass with aesthetically designs on it. When we design a bungalow such details are definitely part of the planning. There are two entrances to the Indian baithak room , one opens into the flat with the hall while other opens into the garden through which one goes out of the Bungalow. People who do not want to mingle with other people routinely use the entrance that opens into the garden. All doors in the monsoon swell a little in the monsoon, but perhaps you do not know this. Any building structure is built on the plinth which is generally 3-4 feet high from the ground level, then in case of even large windows, begin at 3 to 4 feet high from the floor level so a person walking around has to be atleast 7 - 8 feet tall to peep through the opaque bamboo glass to have a peep inside the bedroom. The window in the bathroom is 10 feet higher than the stairway where people walk, so find a person about 11 feet tall to peep into the bathroom. So study everything before passing unreasonable remarks as if you have taken a thorough study of my bungalow. Did you mange to peep through any windows. Beyond the windows are large palm trees strategically placed so there are no chances of any one peeping in. We are in Mumbai and water shortage all over India is well known. How many places have 24 hour water supply? Here in Krishna Mansion we have two sources of water supply, one is the municipal water that is stored in the independent large underground tank and the bore well water, both exclusively for this bungalow so at the press of a button the water is refilled so there is no way that one remains without water for more than 15 minutes, if at all. How did you miss all that with your keen eye for criticizing every thing? Your stay here was for 48 hours and for few minutes you did not get the water so it is no big deal. In interior Maharashtra water is seen once in 7-15 days even in 5 star hotels. We would have started the water when we felt that there was no water, there were about 10 other guests and people staying here at the same time so water had to be refilled often. You left after utilising the 2 days that you had paid to stay for and not because there was no water for a few minutes. Be honest atleast. It is sad that you did not notice the surroundings at all , it is definitely a rare sight in Mumbai. You did not hear the orchestra of the birds or the feeling of being alone in the world, the serenity and sacredness of the place as traffic is almost non existent. People have to be sensitive and have a sense of aesthetics to observe and enjoy the closeness of being in quiet , green environment and this place is certainly only for people who want to get a taste of being in a bungalow, being in a hill station in Mumbai.

The property is fairly below average in upkeep. Location wise, this is at the far end of Chembur, in a factory area, surrounded by a village and a muddy road. Do not expect anything in the vicinity for food or necessary items. The hostess did invite me to her section of the house (2nd floor) and chatted for a while. It appeared to me (I could not wrong) that the section of the house meant for the guests is maintained by the domestic help and the hostess herself does not oversee anything. The cleanliness and upkeep is far below the level when someone considers inviting people at home. Specially the patio and foyer were very smelly. It smelt of rat (or bat) litter. There were birds (and dropping) in the foyer area. The room was dingy. No natural light or ventilation. The bed was pretty functional, but the sheets and pillow cases were not changed for several weeks. I had to use my towel over the bed. Well, I was provided with a towel and a hand-tower but it was so worn out and discoloured that I preferred to use mine. I had a horrible time in the night. Very sultry night, and were lots of mosquitoes. I could not sleep much and had to make an excuse and leave after the 2nd night. Toilet was never cleaned. The fittings were coming off. I found the health faucet was dangling in the wash basin. Never used that basin. The toilet papers were soaking wet. There were slugs crawling on the wall. I booked for a "private" room but I had to share the room with another guy who was moved to my room because his room bath flooded with water. It was too late in the night for me to take that up. I made some polite conversation and slept. One cannot think of using the kitchen for anything. It did not even have a water purifier. Remember, I told you you cannot buy anything in the vicinity. So I had to wait till the next morning when I came to town to get a gulp of water (my bad). Seems like the hostess left the entire running of the "motel" to her domestic help who is least concerned with the concept of hospitality. Take my advice and stay away from this property.

Mukul, you had met me 2 days after I came back from Hospital after 23 day stay in hospital, with hemoglobin level at under 5 instead of 11 or 12 and loss of more than 20 kg in weight and you still expect that because Mukul has come I should supervise the cleaning of your room though I may not have strength to talk or walk without support, or even sit up on my own. Mukul you were in the master bed room. One window is 6 ft * 5 ft and one window on adjacent wall is 5ft * 5ft. the room size is 16 feet * 14 feet. You found it dingy, with no natural light or ventilation. Are you talking of my home? Please teach me what should be the size of the windows and room size that Mukul approves off. What are the average dimensions of your rooms in your home and are there no walls only windows to let in air and light. I believe my rooms are large and very well ventilated. I have started Airbnb in April 16. All six items, one small towel, one big towel, 1 sheet for the mattress, 1 sheet for use at night for covering one self, 1 pillow cover, 1 day thick counterpane per bed, two sets per bed for 3 bed rooms are only 4 months old, used and washed less than 6 times each. Do you throw away your sheets, towels, your clothes after 3rd wash? If you do, then you are not an environmentally friendly person, but you are someone who lives in hotels mainly and so doesn't know realities of domestic living. I was just 1 floor up atleast you should have shown them to me then I could have done something positive about it instead of criticizing later, or may be that is your style of functioning. It is surprising that you could see the bird droppings but not the hundreds of plants on both sides of the green carpet walkway including tall palms that were welcoming you. There are water filters on each of the floors. On the 1st floor there is a water purifier that has two taps so to be on the safe side, the housekeeper fills up atleast 20 bottles of filtered water bottles, daily, and are left in the fridge for convenience of the guests. But I suppose your style is not to find out but to grumble about it later. Mukul are you sure you are talking about my home and have not mixed up with another of the many places you stay in night after night as a global traveler that you are? No one complained of flooding of the room, none of my two assistants remember cleaning up a flooded room, where did the water disappear by next morning in the humid rainy season? Sheer magic? or your description doesn't fit my home at all. There is a great mixup in your head. you are not talking about my Mansion at all. A three bed room flat spread over 2400 sq feet is luxury, not dingy. There are 9 large window, the smallest is 5 * 6 feet while largest is 12 feet * 8 feet in size and you call it poor ventilation? You talked about flying to Chennai to do the noble work of caring for your brother in law etc. they were all made up stories were they? And I kept thinking what a noble person you were that you give up your many business appointments but I now see how hollow you are. Your words are worthless. You did not find one good thing in my entire Krishna Mansion, what a way to live without appreciating the beautiful things that you come across in your passage through life. Only money counts, nothing else matters!!! It is clear from the beginning that my home is in a very serene, quiet, green space away from the busy city market, away from the hussle- bussle of the city, away from artificial living. It is close to the eastern freeway that zooms you in and out of Mumbai on elevated roads, so traffic noises do not reach you when you are at home and traffic snarls are away from you as you move towards South Mumbai, towards North Western suburbs or towards Navi Mumbai. One has to make a choice and stay in cluttered, noisy market place, leading an artificial life or the place that calms your nerves, rejuvenates you with oxygen enriched environment, brings you close towards Mother Earth, listen to an orchestra of bird songs, watch squirrels at play...

I am Anjani Mehta. I am very fortunate that I am living in a very green, quiet area in Chembur east. I am happy to learn new things and know about how the people live and explore larger dimensions of life. I would be happy to share my home with many strangers who may leave as friends.
I am an environmentalist, I work with Nature and enjoy good natural things in life that are more sustainable and less wastage.
