This light, sunny rooftop apartment on the city´s historic walking street offers a quiet, private retreat for a couple or a small family, close to points of interest and above Ananda Yoga Center (2nd floor). 15% discount offered on all meals in La Casa del Pan vegetarian restaurant downstairs (open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
On the third floor at the rear of a house listed in the city´s historic registry, this naturally-appealing apartment welcomes you to rest and stay for a while. The sofa in the living area converts into a double bed to accommodate guests and children. Beautiful views, abundant windows and skylights, comfortable spaces to relax or work peacefully. Dining area seats four at a round table. Sweet rocking chair. Water purifier ozonates your drinking water. New induction stove, small fridge, quiet washer-dryer. Movies are shown most evenings downstairs in the cozy home cinema with dinner options. Spanish, meditation and yoga classes available. Acclaimed vegetarian/vegan restaurant, La Casa del Pan on the ground floor hosts live music on weekends from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. (which cannot be heard from the apartment).
Stroll through the hall of the friendly Casa del Pan restaurant on the ground floor and go out the door at the back, next to the cinema, and ascend the wrought-iron outdoor stairway leading you through fragrant jazmine-flowering archways, past the second-floor patio garden and up to the third floor deck and entrance to Casita Lin on your right. Guests of Casa La Vinia have priority access to the deck, so thank you for your consideration and only use it with discretion, when that apartment is not occupied.
We are available every day and in the evenings, vía this platform, happy to give you information about local attractions and travel advice. There is a night watchman on duty (10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) should you have any emergencies during the night.
While the apartment is in the center of the historic center, it is a quiet rooftop retreat, a few steps away from live music, theater and cultural activity in the neighborhood. Restaurants, markets, travel agents, bookstores and shopping are nearby. The washer-dryer is energy-saving, super-quiet but requires 6 hours to finish its cycle of wash & dry. Please note and plan ahead, if you want to wash your clothes. Also, it uses very little liquid detergent, which we supply, of an eco-friendly variety, and which should be put directly on the clothes and not in the soap dispenser.
The hot water shower is energy-saving. The thermostat is located beneath the bathroom sink. Turn it up to Maximum about 20 minutes before you plan to shower and turn it back down to Minimum when you get out of your shower. If do not use the full force of the water, your hot water will last longer.
Your stay with us includes 2 complimentary breakfasts in La Casa del Pan restaurant downstairs, plus a 15% discount on all your meals taken there. You will appreciate our quality and the care we take to prepare everything fresh.
No smoking in any part of the building, including the covered wooden deck.
Please leave the apartment as clean as you found it, even though it will be completely cleaned for the next guests.
No large parties in the apartment, please (considering your neighbors in the nearby apartment), but If you would like to host a party, the cinema is available for rent by the hour, with sofas, tables and chairs and full service from the Casa del Pan restaurant.
Please separate your trash into the designated bins for composting or recycling.
The traveler making the reservation must be at least 21 years old.
i have a vegetarian, artisan bakery-restaurant called La Casa del Pan Papalotl in San Cristobal de Las Casas with a rooftop garden. i love to garden, cook, play the flute, paint, swim and hike. La Casa del Pan is a wonderful place to eat, watch movies, practice yoga and meet people. We host volunteers when space is available. My husband Ron is an agro-ecological anthropologist who works with Mayan and mestizo farmers. We love living in Mexico and enjoy visiting France and England, as well as the wild areas of the US. We like daytime activities more than nightlife, visiting local farms and farmers´ markets, and are happy to recommend museums and restaurants in San Cristobal and nearby natural and cultural points of interest, as well as some of the history of this area.
