Feel at home in Barcelona centre. Breakfast included. Towels and toiletries provided.

A lovely, spacious and light room in a big flat. The room has a double bed (new mattress May 2017), wardrobe, shelves.

The flat is in an old building (1920) typical of the city, but has been recently renovated with new floor, bathroom, kitchen, it's lovely! You will have your room, plus access to the rest of the house - 2 living rooms, kitchen, bathroom, washing machine.

I'm in the CENTRE of the city, perfect for sight-seeing. The apartment is next to Plaza Universidad, and a few minutes' walk from Plaza Cataluña, Paseo de Gracia, El Gotico, El Raval neighbourhoods, and have metro, buses, trains, all within a few minutes walk. The Aerobus (airport bus) stops one block away.

There are shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, everything you could possibly need, just on the doorstep, and the area is very safe.

You will be sharing with me (I'm from England) and the other room is rented out with to visitors too. I'm friendly, helpful and will respect your privacy. I work, so tend to be quiet in the evenings, and expect my sleep to be respected too.

BREAKFAST and tea and coffee INCLUDED (stays up to one week). This is self service - help yourselves to teas, coffee, bread, cereals, milk, soy milk, butter, jams and juice etc.

Great WIFI!! (WLAN)

I speak English and Spanish.

ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE TIMES are flexible, I will try and fit in with you, but will depend on my working times. I can usually come home to let you in during the day, but you may need to have a coffee and wait a little while.

CHECK-IN You can arrive at any time during the day, depending on what time I can be at the flat to meet you. Obviously if you arrive in the morning, and other guests are leaving, I may not have the room ready for you, but you are free to come, collect the key, and make yourselves at home.
CHECK-OUT If I have other guests arriving, I will ask you to leave the room at 10am, so I have time to clean. However you are usually free to stay in the flat later and/or leave your luggage in the flat.

pay 6 nights, stay 7 (15% discount)
Stays of one month 20% discount

Living room and dining room, kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast (help yourself to cereals, toast, tea, coffee and juice) included, and towels and toiletries provided.

I live here so you'll see me everyday. I'm busy with work and life but will do my best to help with recommendations and other queries.

I enjoy meeting people and having guests to stay and my priority is for you to feel comfortable and at home from day one.

The best part about this apartment is that it is walking distance from cool areas such as the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla, as well as great, local food, cute bars, and the metro. Even though Hannah wasn't there during our stay, she made sure we were well taken care of. She had small snacks for us to grab on our way out to explore the city and had Aloe lotion waiting for us after a long day at the beach. Staying at Hannah's place made us feel like we had an authentic Barcelona experience.

When one books a private room, one does not expect to be woken up multiple times by unfamiliar faces opening and looking into your door (without a lock) and your window (that opens to the common-space balcony and does not remain closed). Hannah was not in during our stay, though her friend Kate was dropping in to greet us and to clean the apartment (though apparently not the refrigerator as it was full and smelled rotten the entire time we were there). Kate informed us that we would have the apartment for the entirety of the weekend, though halfway through the weekend we found ourselves in shock as another couple walked in. As our belongings had been out in the open, we hastily gathered our things into our room, which we then discovered had no locks. Upon contacting Hannah about this, she seemed to think it was no issue and said "we trust each other here." If it were maybe just her and her friend staying in the apartment, this might have been fine, but there were two other rooms being rented out with new guests every few days. We found large guests of the cockroach variety downstairs as well. On top of the room having no privacy, the apartment is far too hot to not have A/C – you have to sit in front of the fan at all times for it to be tolerable – and the shower had to be positioned facing away from the curtain with the curtain completely on the tile for it to not flood the bathroom floor. The bathroom door only has a long hook, so be prepared for strangers to open and be able to see you going to the bathroom. When we tried to use the washing machine, the machine locked and stopped working, and I had to try many different cycles until the dry tumble setting allowed it to open. Upon my asking, Hannah said that the inner cage had to be closed in addition to the whole machine and that previous guests had made the same mistake. One would think that if this had been a problem before due to the machine being unlike American ones, she might include a little note in the instructions. If you're staying by yourself in a cooler season with valuables that you can take out with you, and you don't care much about people watching you sleep, Hannah's place might be a decent place for you. We would much rather have spent a few more euros a night for a private apartment, and certainly considered changing to another place during our stay.

I'm from England but have been living in Barcelona for 12 years now. I know the city well, love it more, and can help anyone visiting to have a great time here. I love dancing salsa, walking, making cakes, Cuba, generally enjoying life! I've been hosting with AirBnB for a couple of years, and have met lots of great people from all over the world; it's fun!
