I cannot recommend Isabelle’s place, because she continually interrupted me, annoyed me with petty criticisms about various kitchen practices, used abusive language about my innocuous personal behaviors, and requested me to leave after just a week. She should have minded her own business, because her opinions about my personal habits are not worth much. I left her place in good shape, and caused minimal disturbance. Her own practices are worse, because she had several loud, drunken parties, wanted me to stay out of the way, and may well have been under the influence of alcohol, etc., in being so irritable. She did, however, completely refund my money for time not stayed, and after listening to her side of the story, AIRBNB awarded me $50 to help find another accommodation, and also 15% off to remain in Montreal. It was hard to find an appropriate place at late notice, so my vacation plans were ruined, and I returned home to Texas, where life is so much better anyway. It is important to find compatible people to stay with, and still it is a shot in the dark, so this is a problem with AIRBNB. Commercial innkeepers have much higher standards of performance. If you make a reservation with Isabelle, there is a good chance that you cannot depend on your plans.
