A traditional fisherman's cottage within the walls of this World Heritage Site town of Conwy. That means we're a few minutes walk to a medieval castle, excellent independent restaurants, real ale pubs and cafes, and a harbour where you can find Italian/Welsh artisan ice-cream, buy fresh lobster and crab, or just sit and watch the world go by. I'm always easily contactable if you need a helping hand.
Bwthyn Haf is a Grade 2 listed, traditional terraced cottage, in a cul-de-sac which leads up to the medieval town wall. There is a living/dining room with comfy chairs, tv and everything you need for lazing around. The kitchen is small but well-equipped – I regularly cook Christmas dinner for 6 people in it, so anything’s possible. I insist that guests learn some Welsh during their stay, so you’ll have to work out what the words ‘te’, ‘coffi’ and ‘sigwr’ mean if you’re going to make yourself a warm drink. Outside is a courtyard garden, ideal for relaxing with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms. Your room has a double bed and fitted wardrobes. The bed has a traditional Welsh tapestry cover, so you’ll never be cold … although you may want to remove it when the weather is warm. I use the second room as my bedroom/office when I am in Conwy, and ask guests to respect this.
Until recently we operated as a self-catering unit, and have 4 star Visit Wales (Government) grading which covers all aspects of the accommodation, including quality, safety and cleanliness.

Access code for the front door key safe if I am not there to welcome you personally. The property will be fully prepared, there is an information folder with details of how to operate electrical items etc, and there is a supply of books and maps for exploring the area.
Guests have my telephone and email details so that they can contact me at any time during their holiday.
Conwy is a medieval walled town in Wales. Consequently it is not the best place to come for a suntan and it's best to prepare for all weathers, regardless of the time of year. As it was built before cars were invented, driving around its narrow streets can be an adventure, so please be patient with other drivers and accept that sometimes you might have to walk to your final destination. However, all these things make it a fantastic place if you're interested in staying in the centre of a one of the greatest historical sites in Europe and being able to stroll to shops, restaurants, galleries - or onto wild mountains and beautiful beaches.
Two guests maximum.
Respect the privacy and peace of neighbours: Keep noise levels down when in the garden, especially at night.
On-street parking is extremely limited, and the narrowness of the streets mean you risk having your vehicle damaged. Please park responsibly: do not park in front of other cottages and do not block in other cars.

I'm a wee grey haired academic who enjoys wandering over mountains, singing, eating and listening to people's stories .... sometimes all at the same time. When I'm not staying as a guest of other hosts, I'm welcoming people to our fisherman's cottage in Conwy, North Wales
