Situated on the banks of the river Lym in the heart of old Lyme Regis 'The Works' is a historic building believed to have once been the Moot Hall. Recently restored it is now a large and comfortable family home merely 2 minutes walk from the beach.
Having been recently refurbished this comfortable, spacious and warm bedroom suite has beautiful reclaimed wood floors that give character and charm. A double-ended bath along with separate large dual function shower add luxury and comfort to the spacious ensuite bathroom. 'The Works' sits beside the picturesque River Lym and alongside the leat that services Town Mill.
Breakfast is generally served downstairs in the large open plan kitchen/dining area.
We are a family with three boys all at local schools. We have two quiet and very friendly dogs and we will be happy to welcome you into our home. We tend to rise early and generally go to bed around 10pm - 11pm.
We like to get the best out of the day and generally the house is quiet between 9pm and 10pm - especially if it is a school night. We would expect guests to avoid returning to the house too late at night - or at least to be quiet if they do so. Strictly no smoking. No pets - unless by prior arrangement.
We will be happy to give you advice, information and directions to help your stay be as enjoyable as possible.
We are a worldly family who have lived in NZ for many years and now have created a cosy home in Lyme Regis. Kirsten is a conservation biologist working in research and is originally from Shetland in Scotland. Paul is a garden designer and writer who loves edible gardens and wild food. Our house is quirky, comfortable, light and cosy. We are in the centre of Lyme and can walk to the beach in two minutes. We have three teenage sons and two dogs and love to travel.
Our favourite destinations are where you can observe great wildlife, surf, and jump in the rivers.
