Recently re- decorated light, airy and spacious 2 bed flat in the heart of Glasgow's vibrant West End, and a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Surrounded by fabulous restaurants, pubs, and shops , its a wonderful flat in a fabulous location! We also put in a brand new kitchen in April of this year (2017), with new appliances, work surfaces and units, which give a fresh, clean and modern look to this fabulous space.
Built in the 1800s, our light and airy 2 bedroom first floor tenament flat boasts polished wooden floors throughout the communal areas, tall ceilings and original ornate cornicing work in the living room. The bedrooms have both been newly carpeted, and new double glazed windows have been installed in both bedrooms, the bathroom and the kitchen, with new venetian blinds in the kitchen, both bedrooms, bathroom and living room.
The totally refurbished bathroom gives a modern twist to the traditional feel of the flat. We've installed a brand new shower, toilet and vanity unit, to create a sleek and fresh new space for modern living.
The rear of the flat is south facing and flooded with natural light from dawn to dusk in the summer months. We also have access through the communal hall to a raised private paved area, where we have a picnic bench, garden chairs and potted plants, providing a lovely space to enjoy an al-fresco breakfast, or watch the sun set over the city with a glass of wine in the evening.
If you decide to eat in , the large dining kitchen is a fantastic space for entertaining, and the large south facing window gives it a light and airy feel. The newly fitted kitchen is clean, modern and adds a fresh dynamic to the property. We have installed a brand new gas hob, fan assisted electric oven, a new under counter fridge, and a new washing machine, so everything is in pristine condition!
The large living room is to the front of the property, with three large double glazed bay windows looking down on to Great Western Road. A beautiful cast iron fireplace is the focal point of the room, and the polished floors, rugs, high ceiling and cornicing gives the room a cosy feel and full of character. We also have a TV for those who feel like relaxing in front the box for an hour or so!
Or if you prefer watching movies on your lap top, we have WIFI which is free for all our guests, and the password will be provided on arrival.
Both double bedrooms have been newly painted and carpeted, and both benefit from newly installed lockable double glazed windows. The bedrooms are light and airy and each have a desk, a chair and storage space for clothes.
A new boiler means the water is always hot on demand, and the radiators in every room makes it nice and warm in the winter months.
All rooms are off the large hall way, which has been newly painted, and the floor has been recently polished.
As well as large storm doors to the front of the property, there is also a door entry system giving access to the communal hall, for added security.
We would love you to come and stay at our flat, and we are sure living here will give you a taste of the real Glasgow!
We invite you to use all the rooms in the flat with the exception of the large walk in cupboard off the living room, which is locked.
We will meet you on the day of your arrival to hand over the keys and show you around the flat, but will then leave you in peace to discover the delights of Glasgow's West End for youself. However, we live nearby and are happy to answers any questions you may have. There is an information folder in the property, with WIFI details, as well as some leaflets about what to do and see in the area.
We have an iron, ironing board and clothes horse in the flat, which you are welcome to use. We also have a hairdryer in the desk drawer in one of the bedrooms.
On the day of your arrival, there will be fresh milk, fresh croissants and cereal etc, to get you started. However you are a 2 minute walk away from Tesco Metro, while the grocery shop just downstairs, sells the basics. There is body wash in the shower, as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner, with fresh clean towels in the bathroom ready for your use.
We want your stay to be as relaxing and as enjoyable as possible, but we do have 3 house rules - no smoking, no pets and please treat our home in the same way you would treat your own i.e with respect to our things and to our neighbours.
Smoking is permitted outside on the private raised patio area, accessed through the communal hall.
I live in Milngavie, just outside Glasgow, and work for a furniture manufacturing company as a Marketing Manager. I have 3 children - 2 at university and one still at school. I am a bit of a "clean freak", but I hope the flat reflects this as a positive aspect of my personality! I love going on holiday abroad with my husband and family, and it's a real treat these days to have all the children together with us when we go abroad. I love reading, eating out with friends and the sunshine! Our flat is only available in the summer months, as my son is at university and uses it in term time. However, it is great flat and I really hope if you choose to stay with us, that you enjoy your time there.
