There are no words to describe the experience at Projekt Kodu; Jim and Maari have created something very special that every traveller should visit! An absolutely amazing place located in the lush forest of Lahemaa National Park. The price includes free bike rental, sauna in the evenings, use of the kitchen and greens from the garden. A lovely place with great facilities. Perfect to take a break and recharge or just be close to nature. Free Shuttle from Loksa (1.5 hrs bus ride from Tallinn).
Somewhere in the middle of the woods, there is a hidden treasure. You cannot just call this place ‘accommodation’, it is somewhere to relax in the middle of the forest, sleeping in a tent yet in a very comfy bed. An amazing sleep in the kind of quiet you may never have experienced before. The tents have very comfortable mattresses and include clean bed linen: feather/wool duvets and pillows. Stay in the tent and feel the comfort!
This listing is for a bed in a 4-bed dorm. Please note, you will be sharing the space with other like minded people! 2 nights stay preferred and recommended by most guests!
We invite you to use and enjoy incredible sauna, plunge pool, bikes, fully equipped kitchen, open fires, pizza oven & more! We are more than happy to show you the garden and you can pick your own salad. We have excellent wi-fi and charging stations.
Our site is off-grid, meaning we produce our own electricity from solar power and generators. Drinking water comes from our well and washing water from the stream. We compost toilet waste. This is a functioning example of honest ecological off-grid living. We hope it makes you feel happy & content during your stay!
Very cool and international community you can get to know around the campfire and/or sauna evenings. Both owners Jim and Maari are super friendly, very happy to show you around and talk about permaculture, their experiences living off-grid and building sustianably.
FREE DAILY SHUTTLE FROM LOKSA AT 15.30 (easy to get to from Tallinn by public transport)
Local handmade beer on offer
Most evenings cooked dinners available for a small fee
Please bring your own food
Please let us know if you need a free shuttle service in advance

We respect the environment and ask that you do to. Please take the time to sort your waste so that it can be recycled in the village. Likewise, please use the compost bins provided.
There is a strict no shoes policy in all Estonian houses. The same applies at our tents!
As we are off-grid we must be resourceful with electricity use. Please turn lights off when you are not using them, and be conscious of electricity use for charging laptops, phones etc. There is not enough electric to constantly watch movies! Nor enough reason when you live in the forest..!
As standard, we ask that you enjoy yourself and do not hesitate to find us on site/contact us should you need anything.
Cancel up to 7 days before your trip and get a 50% refund. Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

Having enjoyed life on the road in Europe, Africa & South America we decided to live off-grid in beautiful Lahemaa National park, Estonia. Having been so inspired by the journeys we took, the people we met & the places we stayed- the only natural step for us next was to create our own hostel!
We believe that we can live with nature, in nature. We believe that we can positively create tourism in Lahemaa which is ecologically minded.
Our site has consciously been developed from an abandoned forest site to a meca of natural building!
please make your selves at home at our 'Project-Home!'
