Hop Pickers Cottage is one of 5 holiday cottages at White House Cottages in beautiful Aylton, near Ledbury. The cottage is characterful with open plan living, exposed beams & gas log burner, set in a south facing, shared walled garden with furnished patio area. The perfect base to explore stunning Herefordshire and experience pure rural bliss! Dogs welcome.
Hop Pickers is the quintessential English country cottage dating back to the 18th century. Originally built for workers on a farm that has its origins in the 12th century, it has been lovingly converted and has all the homely comforts you’ll need.
Downstairs is entirely taken up with an open plan living/dining room with a well-equipped kitchen. There’s an aged brick feature fireplace and an extremely cosy gas wood burner for snugly evenings. Upstairs there’s a one twin-bedded room (with space for a cot) and one cosy double room – both with cruck-beams, soft Egyptian cotton bed linen and fluffy towels.
The cottage has its own terrace with outside furniture, so it’s perfect for lazy lunches and al fresco dinners overlooking a lovely, shared south facing walled garden.
Hop Pickers is surrounded by beautiful and tranquil countryside, we can’t guarantee you’ll sleep better than you ever have, but there’s a good chance you will! It’s an idyllic place to get away from it all.
Our start days are Mondays and Fridays, however, we will always try to be as flexible as possible if you’d like to start on another day, so please ask. Guests have their own private terrace and use of the shared walled garden and lawn.
We live just across the driveway, so we’ll usually be here to welcome you and show you the ropes (if you like) and then leave you to enjoy your stay. But we’re always about if you need us, whether it’s to replace a bulb or recommend a great pub.
There’s access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. Please note fee WiFi is available, but the signal can be a bit 'countryside' slow, and this also goes for mobile reception - it can be patchy depending on your phone/network.
Hop Pickers is no smoking cottage, but feel free to nip out to the terrace to smoke. We also ask that you treat the cottage and furnishings with respect, leaving everything in a good and clean condition.
Well-behaved dogs are always welcome (for an additional fee of £15 - payable on arrival). All we ask is that you do not leave them alone in the cottage, keep them off the furniture and clean up after them.
If you are staying longer than a week, we will provide you with clean linen and towels, but it will be your responsibility to keep the cottage clean throughout your stay. We can organise a cleaner if required for a small additional charge.
City girl living in the country! We moved up from London to beautiful Aylton in September 2014, just before having our son, Elijah. He was a little bit more work than expected (!) so updates to our five holiday cottages have been slow, but we are getting there. We love living here, and are really excited about the cottages and welcoming guests to share this wonderful location.
