A stay at the finca El Almbique will become a lasting and beautiful memory in your life. Total immersion in nature, as well as getting to know the traditional life in the Andalucian countryside; sustainable tourism fusing nature and culture, stimulating the senses and awakening the emotions.
The house, a centuries old construction which maintains a comfortable temperature all year, consists of two floors. On the upper floor, a large living room furnished with built in divans and a chimney , an attic bedroom and bathroom. On the lower floor, a well equipped kitchen, a living area with wood burning stove, a bedroom and another bathroom. And, surprisingly, the living room has its own source of spring water, whose continual trickle, which eventually leads to an outside cistern, was originally used to cool the still. Outside of the house there is a long vine covered porch complete with barbecue. Fathermore, you can enjoy a private swimming pool with spectacular views to the Serranía de Ronda.
This ancient olive oil mill, refurbished with modern day comforts, still conserves the original mill stones, an iron olive press and many of the original tools used for making olive oil, wine and for distilling the brandy like drink, orujo
El Alambique is situated on the outskirts of Algatocïn, a picturesque white village in the Serranía de Ronda, facing the Genal valley with the Guadiaro valley behind. Nestled on the side of the mountain, its narrow winding streets speak of the village´s Moorish origins. A wonderful place with spectacular views of the mountain ranges covered with Mediterranean woodlands: oaks, pines, chestnut trees ..
The five acres of the finca are terraced with zigzag paths, perfectly suited for sitting and contemplating the countryside, taking walks and enjoying the view of cork oaks, madroños (a strawberry like fruit tree), as well as olive, almond, walnut, fig, pomegranate, plum trees, etc. The list is endless , meaning that at any time of the year you will be able to take advantage of fresh fruit direct from the trees, and fresh produce from our ecological garden
