The apartment is one of the largest ones in this very new building. The building is on one of the most lively streets in Melbourne - St Kilda's fabulous Fitzroy St. The great thing about our apartment is that it is at the top back corner of the block so it has a quiet and private view facing the bay. Then when you exit through the beautiful, modern lobby, you are just next door to fashionable restaurants such as Luxembourg and Milk the Cow.
The balcony is 40 square metres and has a dining table and we have just added great bean bags and a new bbq.
The beds are all new and the queen bed in the master bedroom has a brand new memory foam mattress for ultimate sleep. The 2nd bedroom has two matching single which can be put together to make a King.
There is a 24 hour gym downstairs (not free). Across the road is Albert Park lake.
The master bedroom ensuite has a huge shower with room for 2 and the 2nd bathroom has a large tub.
The living room is spacious and has a brand new 2 seater and 3 seater leather couch and with the doors open the breeze comes in from the ocean as you look at the stars above from the broad expanse of sky visible from your lounge chair, and the city light twinkle below.
The kitchen has a miele dishwasher and there is a huge stainless fridge with ice-maker (for assistance with cocktails).
This apartment would be $1000 per night if it was in a hotel. It's actually very much like a luxury hotel in its ambience. It is our dream home and that's why everything in it is 5 star. We are doing the AirBNB thing to pick up some extra money to hopefully pay off the massive mortgage a little quicker lol.
The apartment is accessed via a secure lobby on the street front. The location is unique as it is literally minutes walk from St Kilda beach and Albert Park lake. Great bars and restaurants, 24/7 gym, trams/light rail across the road leading directly to the city. Albert park lake, supermarket across the street, tennis, lawn bowls, fast food and fine dining all jumbled in together.
We check in with them by phone at the beginning, middle and end of their stay to make sure everything is ok.

I work in the food and grocery supply industry and have a passion for world foods. Last year a friend from London introduced me to the concept of airbnb and we booked a great apartment in Barcelona. We took great care of the place and it was a more authentic experience as well as cheaper between the two of us than staying in a hotel, so I thought I'd try it out with my place in Melbourne.
