Private room for one person in a cozy, quiet 2-BR, 1 BA, 960 square foot guest house on the back lot of a property (3 miles north of downtown and 1 mile from Tucson Mall). See below for more details. 1/2 blk to bus line & 2 blks to bike route.
I live in a 2-BR, 1 BA, 960 square foot guest house on the back lot of a property (about 2-3 miles north of downtown) complete with rain-water harvesting, composting, a garden and a view of the Catalina Mountains. You will be staying in my son's room which is simply furnished with a twin Tempur-Pedic mattress, a small table, chair and area rugs. Part of the closet is used for storage but there is lots of spare room for you to hang your clothes. The greywater we produce from the kitchen and bathroom sinks as well as the washer are distributed directly outside to water the orange tree and other plants. For that reason, I use and provide Oasis products which you will be asked to use also. You may use what you wish for the shower but I also provide shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap. I will ask you to compost your coffee grounds, egg shells and raw vegetable scraps. While not fancy in decor, my home is comfortable, cozy and safe with tons of natural light. Due to the size of the home and the bedrooms being directly next to each other, I think the accommodations are best for women however, I will also welcome male guests. I want you to feel at home as we will be sharing the whole space together. If you wish we can chat about possibly sharing meals and groceries depending on the length of your stay.
Other than the bedrooms, we share the rest of the house together.
Internet/Wi-Fi, Local TV (not cable), Roku channel access
My work hours are 830am-5pm, Monday through Friday, I am happy to join you for morning coffee or meals at night depending on our individual schedules. I'm available by phone if you need something during your stay. When I'm not working, I'm often home working on various photography projects. Since it's a small space, my guests and I tend to interact quite a bit in a casual and friendly way. I want you to feel at home.
Check in and out times: flexible. When you arrive, we talk about our respective schedules and figure out what will work best.
My awesome landlord, Julie, could be occasionally outside working on the permaculture landscape or fixing up the main house. She is wonderful and friendly if you see her in your comings and goings throughout the day.
Light alcohol ok.

About me: I am a very young 56-year old woman who works a day job as a social worker but my true passion is documentary photography which I do every spare moment. I've published multiple books including Bus Stop Dreams in which I used public transit as a metaphor for following our individual and collective dreams. I've traveled to photograph in Canada and the Bahamas. I have had the good fortune to study with the legendary Mary Ellen Mark just one month before she passed away. I'm a single mom of a now 20-year old son who is in college in another state on a full ride scholarship. I take good care of my health, work out 4-6 days a week and look younger than my age. We have a 6-year old ginger cat named Abe who is friendly and loves to sit on your lap if you let him. While health conscious, I love good pressed coffee which I make every morning, red wine, dark chocolate and I am a omnivore. Most evenings after my regular job, you'll find me at my laptop working on photography and marketing projects. I really want you to feel comfortable and at ease in my home. I look forward to hosting you. You'll find me easy to talk with and accommodating.
