Near the corner of Collins & Swanston Streets, our homey two bedroom fully self-contained apartment with city views is surrounded by Melbourne's amazing restaurants, theatres, shops and venues, and will excite the city visitor. Immerse yourself! Our apartment is also family friendly with high chair and travel cot included.
This is a perfect place for 3 - 4 guests to stay - either for a family or group of friends - while staying in the pulsing heart of Melbourne - you'll be literally 50 metres from the Melbourne Town Hall.
The apartment itself has been furnished and customised to make it as homey and 'un-hotel-like' as possible, with indoor plants, brand new beds, mattresses and linen, simple but attractive sofas and kitchen table and chairs, a fully equiped kitchen with gas stove, fridge, dishwasher. We have a high chair and travel cot available as well for guests with young infants. We have books and games for all ages, as well as TV, internet and Apple TV. If it weren't for the view out the floor-to-wall windows you'd think you were home. A compendium is provided which lists everything you'll need to know, including where to find places to supermarket shop, laundry and transport information, recommended cafes and restaurants, and unlimited list of things to see and do during your stay.
There is a clothes line and ironing board, air conditioning in summer and heating in winter, making it a great place to recuperate between city adventures.
The best thing is, you'll have the whole place to yourself. Entrance to the building is restricted to the public and you'll have your own key to come and go as you please.
We will try to be there to give you the key and show you in, but in the event we can't meet you in person we will arrange a way for you to pick up the key. After that you'll be left to your own devices, unless you need more advice. We will check in with you regularly to make sure everything is going well and you will have our phone number should you have any questions or requirements.
We are only minutes away in case of emergency.
• Check-in time is 2PM.
We expect people to treat this place as their own, but also respect it as such. Noise should be kept to a minium so as not to disturb your neighbours, especially coming home late at night. Damage should be reported as soon as it occurs, and there is no smoking in the building or the balcony. Apart from that, relax and enjoy yourself!

Hi, we are Gus and Feng Feng, and are living as artists raising a young family - Gus is a musician, composer and sound designer who also teaches banjo. Feng Feng is a former dancer with the Chinese Ballet, who now choreographs with her own contemporary dance company Redspan Dance, plus works at the Victorian College of the Arts, which is where we met each other when we were both studying there in 2004.
We both love good food (cooking and eating!), good films and good music - Feng Feng also makes jewellry, plus has recently developed quite a skill for knitting and sewing for her kids. Her latest project is designing and making cuff-links to sell at markets, re-using old communist badges from the USSR, and she will start studying fashion design in 2017.
We are into the nesting phase of our lives, and spend the bulk of our time looking after our son Wilfred (6) and Emerald (4), which as you can imagine keeps us pretty busy! But previously we have both done lots of traveling, around Australia as well as to Europe, Asia and America, and loved using the Airbnb website to find cosy and personal spaces that had privacy and a touch of style. We loved the way it allowed us to tap into a city's culture on a more personal level. Over the summer of 2013/14 we decided to build an extension on to our house so Feng Feng's parents had a place to stay when they visited from China. With the help of award winning architect Chris Stanley from Splinter Society, (a friend who lives locally) we had lots of fun dreaming up and creating what we have now christened the 'Brunswick Basilica'! So it's been built to be enjoyed by special people. Most of the year however it is vacant so we are keen to have visitors come and enjoy it's beautiful design. The at the start of 2016 we branched out and acquired an apartment in the city of Melbourne to add to our Airbnb portfolio. We selected one that we thought had the best possible location - slap bang in the middle of town. It has been great to host people in such a fantastic location and help them to discover the heart of the city.
We both love living in Brunswick - there's so much interesting stuff going on in the community, lots of venues, cafes, gourmet food trucks, street art, galleries, theatre and shops, it really is the centre of Melbourne's creative heart. We have lots of tips for the adventurous traveler, but can also appreciate that other visitors will be here to work or visit family, so we have designed both places to be homey, private and a little bit special.
We'd love you to come and stay with us, do come and visit!
