Danish West Indian villa on a Robert Trent Jones golf course set in high hills of a tropical forest. The patio, with grill, overlooks the 9th hole. Blue-tiled pool surrounded by picturesque sugar mill ruins. Close to beaches, groceries/restaurants.
This is a secure, gated, quiet community nestled between beautiful mountains in a tropical forest. Tree frogs will sing you to sleep. The pool is a short walk away and set among picturesque sugar mill ruins. It is quite beautiful and I almost always have the pool to myself.
Most of the year, the tropical forest is cooler than the desert end of the island. In July and August, it's pretty warm, but the shade and the high ceilings with fans keep the villa comfortable.
You have use of the entire spacious villa. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a bedroom in the tower with an ensuite bath, a second bedroom on the main level along with a second full bathroom. One new king-sized bed and one queen bed make sleeping comfortable. A full-sized washer and dryer are in the laundry room. A large patio/gallery is off the living room. We generally take the food right from the kitchen to the patio - it's very pleasant to look out over the golf course and have breakfast, dinner, desserts, drinks, or coffee.
Janet and I are on-island during the winter months and ready to welcome you and help with any questions or assistance you might need.
Roku is set up on the internet-only TV, so guests have access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, and may plug in their portable devices using the HDMI cable. There is also a DVD player for your use.
Pets require prior board authorization, so be sure to ask well in advance, so I can ask. Please do not smoke in the villa.
I'm originally from Austin, MN and my wife and I now live in Park Falls, WI. We have one daughter who taught on St. Croix USVI for five years. My wife and I were both administrators - my wife in post-secondary education, and myself in family planning health services. We have retired to St. Croix and the north woods of Wisconsin. I'm a windsurfer and, for me, that's the best thing about this condo. It is a short walk to the breezy beach inside a coral reef for great windsurfing. It's a short drive to good snorkeling and there are dozens of great restaurants and lots of cultural events on St. Croix.
We welcomed our first grandchild in Denver this fall and we're moving between St. Croix, Denver, and the Chequamegon forest pretty frequently.
