The location is wonderful, steps away from great restaurants, cafes, galleries, street food, etc. There is public transit close by, and generally it is the perfect base in La Roma - close to everything, super well located! The building is gorgeous! Edificio Francia is such a beautiful building, with lovely courtyard, spiral stairs, hardwood floors, etc. It is in a bit of disrepair, but in a charming way :) I would recommend the room for short-term guests who don't plan to cook at all, and who are flexible and easy-going, with high tolerance for noise. I stayed for two months, and I don't think it was a good fit for a stay of that length. As someone who likes to cook (and can't afford to eat at restaurants all the time!), I found the kitchen situation challenging - the size, the lack of equipment, and most of all, how dirty the kitchen would get with all the other guests' usage. All three rooms in the apartment are rented to Airbnb guests, which makes for a bit of a chaotic environment and a lack of accountability - i.e. the people who pass through don't care about keeping things clean, about noise, etc. which makes it really hard to stay in the apartment longterm. We would often run out of gas, which meant we were unable to use the stove (no morning coffee!) and were without hot water. We would often run out of drinking water, toilet paper, etc. I would buy those supplies, which I didn't mind, but the other random guests who passed through would not contribute, which I found frustrating as a longterm guest. Occasionally there was no running water or no wifi. All things considered, this space is best suited for people who are just passing through, on vacation, and with budgets suited to eating at restaurants for every meal. If you are on a budget and/or want to cook, or if you work from home and therefore require reliable internet, this might not be the best environment. Claudia is a lovely host, very friendly and responsive, with lovely and kind energy. However, since she doesn't live in the apartment, it means that we had to message her very frequently whenever there were problems. She lives in the building, in another apartment, and would respond very quickly to our requests. When we were without gas, water, etc. she would make that apartment available for showers, use of the stove etc. which was nice. But in general, as a longer-term guest, I found those instances chaotic and disruptive. All in all, I think a short stay would be great for people who have an interest in architecture (the building is so cool!), who have a budget to take advantage of the neighbourhood's amazing restaurants, and who have a very flexible and easy-going attitude towards noise and lack of amenities.

Clau is a pro! From the illustrated pre-arrival packs and fully labelled apartment to the complimentary pastries and constant communication support, the service here is better than what I've had in five star hotels. The place itself is basic but the location is unbeatable, its great value for money and perfect for those who are keen to explore this cool side of mexico city.

After a little confusion to begin with, I arrived at my room inside the gorgeous building. It's definitely a magical place and I wish I could stay longer. Close to everything you could imagine you would need and a designer's dream!

Logement propre et hôte très agréable, qui fait tout pour mettre à l'aise. Le logement est un peu éloigné des lieux touristiques mais une carte de métro est mise à disposition. Les chambres sont très confortables.

Clau is a wonderful host and knows the ins and outs of Mexico City. My boyfriend and I spent 10 days at Clau's apartment and fell in love with the space, from the well-lit room to the gorgeous courtyard outside the bedroom door. Clau works as an architect and the home illustrates her artistic eye. The building is located in Roma Norte, a trendy area in Mexico City full of bars, restaurants and stores. As a vegan, I was afraid I wouldn't find much food in the city, but I was wrong: vegan and vegan-friendly eateries fill the neighborhood. Clau helped me find the best Mexico City has to offer, and her home provided the perfect space to relax after a day out in the crowds. I highly recommend this room.

Hi, I`m a Mexican architect who love old buildings, eat pain au chocolat and drink coffee with my best friend. I work and live in la Roma, so I am always around. I have prepared a guide to access the building and my favorite spots.
