Small modern house built in open farmland close to the 'Heart of Neolithic Orkney'. Guests are welcome to sit with us and have a chat, have a coffee or glass of wine, enjoy our library, wander in our wild garden or just enjoy peace and quiet.
The bedroom we offer is on the first floor, has one double and one single bed so can be booked as a double, twin or 'family' room for parents and a child under 15. (We can add an additional bed to take a family of two adults and two children.) The room has a TV and a large en-suite shower room.
We encourage guests to treat our home as their home while they are with us. If you want to come and sit with us you will be made very welcome but you can also use our guest lounge and library in which you will find a good selection of books on Orkney and by Orcadian authors.
We understand that our guests have different needs. If you need information on Orkney then Ray will happily sit and chat for hours with you to help you plan your visits and if you want to see or do something specific then we can hopefully help and if not we can suggest who to contact.
Other than Maeshowe and Skara Brae, most of the neolithic, iron age and viking sites do not have fully paved access so waterproof footwear is recommended.
No smoking in the house - you are welcome to go outside into the garden. The stairs and first floor are carpetted so we ask that you remove outdoor shoes at the front door. We regret that with the exception of 'assistance' dogs we do not have facilities to accommodate pets.

Outgoing, friendly and caring I enjoy chatting and getting to know people. My husband, Ray, and I have enjoyed our experience so far using our home as a small bed and breakfast, the people we have hosted have been a joy to get to know. We try to keep things informal and invite our guests to share our home and hospitality.
