Cozy, well-loved family cabin with 2 bedrooms (one king, one queen bed) and a loft with 2 twin beds. There is a gas fireplace in the living room, 2 TVs with cable, WIFI internet, and a deck overlooking the mountain. Minutes to Loon Mountain!
This well-loved cabin has space for two couples and two children. There is one downstairs bedroom with a king bed and a new flat screen TV with cable and an HDMI cable to attach your computer. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed, and there is a loft with two twin beds on the fourth floor overlooking the living/dining room. All new kitchen supplies with microwave, oven, toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher.
Relax in front of the fire and play boardgames or do a puzzle. Step out onto the porch and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains. It is a truly restful place to stay and rest after a long day out in nature.
We hope you love this place as much as we do. We are currently in the process of remodeling, so our apologies if some of the furniture is not as rustic as you might hope from a cabin (i.e. the candy cane pink couch and loveseat =)). Please let us know if there is anything we can add to make this place as wonderful for you as it has been for us.
Guests are welcome to the entire house. There are two parking spots in front of the house that are reserved for guest use. Furry friends are more than welcome, but please make sure to keep them on leashes and clean up after them.
We are currently living in North Carolina, but will be accessible via phone to help with any problems that arise. We will leave the keys in a lock box for you, so you are welcome to check in at any time. We will also be accessible via email, and we have tons of suggestions for places to go/see/eat/hike, so don't hesitate to reach out.
We do have wireless internet; however, be aware that phone reception is spotty up here and you may have to go into town to make calls.
We have a very small DVD collection, but you may want to bring some DVDs to watch in the living room. You are also welcome to bring your computer and an HDMI cable if you want to watch anything on the downstairs TV.
Hot water is precious, so please be aware that you have ~ one shower before hot water will be out, and it takes about 30 minutes before it will return. Plan showers accordingly!
Lastly, the front doors tend to stick a bit, so don't be afraid to give them a good kick =)
This is our family's home, and we love it dearly, so we ask that you take good care of it. Please follow the check-out instructions provided, no loud parties (our neighbors will kill us =)), and no smoking inside the house (electronic cigarettes are fine, and the balcony is fine to smoke on). Be careful to turn off the fireplace before leaving and please be careful about leaving candles burning. If your furry friend gets muddy, please towel them down before letting them back on the carpets/furniture. Have a lovely stay =)
I'm Caitlin, and I am a 4th year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Duke University. I live in Durham, NC, but grew up in the Boston area and spent most of my vacations up in Lincoln, NH in our cabin at Loon.
I love to travel and to get out of the country whenever possible. Good food, good wine, good people.
If there is anything you want to know about me, don't hesitate to reach out and ask.
