In response to your review. On April 3rd you made a booking with us and on that very same day I sent you a long message to welcome you and also about the process of arrival. Please look back in your Airbnb messages to see that this is true.
So rather than say you couldn’t see the message, I guess you hadn’t noticed until the hour you arrived that it had always been there. Communication is important to us and you could have contacted us before you left or the night before but that’s ok, it’s a new experience.
If you are new to Airbnb, you should know that not all Airbnb’s are the same. For example with us, we don’t live in the house so we need to know when you would be arriving to coordinate with you. I can say that Jose and I can be strict about check ins because at times it’s stressful but I highly doubt that our 14 year old daughter chastised you when she arrived….but I can’t tell you how you feel.
As far as getting a ride to the bus station in the morning, well we don’t have a car. And to be honest, I most likely wouldn’t get up at 5am to take anyone to the bus station as there are very cheap taxis available. So, I guess I am not a “super-host” if that’s your expectation. Anyway, this is why we offered to arrange a taxi for you in the morning to take you there. You declined so I’m not really sure what else you expected me to do for you. We do however as a courtesy pay for the taxi ride when we pick people up at the bus station. If you wanted more information you could have asked, we don’t want to be over bearing with our guests.
First impressions aren’t always true and it’s unfortunate that you didn’t feel comfortable but I assure you that you were always welcome.
Take care and enjoy your vacation,
(To our future guests, we want you to have a warm welcome, that’s why it’s important to us by letting us know an approximate time of arrival. We don’t want you to have to wait. Actually, we hate it when you wait, it’s stressful for us too. We are strict on ourselves trying to help our guests and provide a great experience. As you can appreciate, it is sometimes hard trying to coordinate our daily lives around check ins, so please give us a heads up :))
