We wanted a central place for our two week stay in Sao Paulo, and Camilo's place was perfect! The apartment is exactly as described: compact (213 square feet) but modern, very well equipped, and located at the heart of Sao Paulo. Wif-fi is great, and having a washing and dryer was so helpful! The entrance to the subway is literally at the building's front door (note that that specific entrance closes before midnight and doesn't open on Sundays). Viaduto do Cha, Municipal Theater, Praca das Artes, Casa Mathilde, Mosteiro Sao Bento, Se Cathedral, and one of our favorite historical sites, Patio do Colegio, are all within walking distance. The Municipal Market, another favorite, is about a 10-15 minute walk.
Before arriving I was concerned about the sofa-bed (my husband is 6'3 feet tall), but was happily surprised how comfortable and easy to open and close it was.
We also needed medical care during our stay, and we found a public urgent care center down the street from the apartment.
Because the apartment is located downtown, most businesses, including restaurants, tend to close early. But right across from the building there is a shopping mall (Shopping Light), and the food options were quite good, especially late at night when everything else was closed.
Camilo was a great host. He checked on us throughout the trip, and made himself available and all went very well. We miss the place and Sao Paulo already!
