We are located in the hills of central VT, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Our place is a working permaculture farm. We produce raw milk, eggs, berries, and veggies, all intertwined into a stunning edible landscape. Unwind in the traditional Finnish Sauna, relax by the living pool, or kick back in an Adirondack chair looking out at the hills of VT. This is one of two yurts at our place. We can accommodate groups of four by booking both yurts. (See Upper Yurt Stay on VT Small Farm )
We will walk you down to your yurt and give you a quick tour of our farm. This yurt is located on the lower part of our farm, although the distance is a mere 300 yards, it is a short yet significant hike down a steep maintained trail. The trail is lit with LED pathway lights to get you to and from the upper farm at night. (In winter this trail can be more difficult be sure to inquire when booking) It has a more secluded and remote feel of the two yurts. There is a stream at the bottom of our property and you can listen to it as you fall asleep! It is a nice 14 ft custom made yurt with a four season insulation kit. There is a wood stove that heats the yurt. If you are unfamiliar with making fires in a wood stove, we will gladly set up and little "workshop" to ensure you can make a good fire in your stove. There is a double bed with a memory foam topper. We provide complementary tea and coffee and drinking water. There is a double burner propane cook top to prepare food. The little kitchen is stocked with pots pans flatware, and cutlery. We can loan you cooler if you keep beverages chilled. During the spring, summer and fall, there is cold running water right at the yurt and an outhouse/composting toilet located directly behind the yurt.
We would like our Guest to experience the farm and have a taste of living in alternative housing situations. You are welcome to swim in the clothing optional living pool anytime. If you choose to go night swimming please do so quietly. There is an outdoor shower (available three season) located near the living swimming pool and sauna area for cleaning up and it provides a liberating experience. Guest have access to the sauna with advanced notice (it's wood fired and we need time to heat it up for you). We will provide you with a refreshing chilled herbal drink for fluid replacement and give you a small tutorial on traditional sauna (as we have many North American misconceptions). We will gladly include you into as many aspects of life on a homestead as you would like. This includes: milking cows, gardening, small fruit production, cheese and butter making, and food preservation. Activities vary depending on the day or season.
WINTER ACCESS: From December to Mid April we generally have quite a bit of snow. Guests who are booking a winter adventure in our yurts will want to be prepared for the trail conditions. Boot packing into the yurt is possible, although it all depends on what kind of snow year we are having. some times micro spikes may be helpful.
We are usually around should you need any recommendations. We also available to sell you fresh raw milk, and some farm fresh eggs (depending on how the ladies are laying) with advanced notice.
-Our property is very private. Going clothes free in and around the living pool, at the cowboy hot tub and in the sauna is the norm for our family, and we invite guest to enjoy the same freedom. It is a very beautiful freedom we have here. We will be sure everyone is comfortable, as we work on creating and protecting a free body culture.
- As of October 2015, Airbnb will be collecting the %9 Vermont Rooms and Meals tax from guest.
We have a small family. Loud, lewd behavior will get you escorted off our property in a hurry.
*Please be on time for your stated arrival time*( some excuses are legit...traffic getting out of the city ect...)
*if you are not going to be on time, let us know via message thread*

I am an artist gone farmer and back. My wife, son and new baby and I are living on 10 beautiful acres. We are all foodies for sure, and enjoy all the land is providing for us. My hope is to develop a stunning edible ecological landscape and provide and share, an example of how humans can positively effect the planet.
