'Lord Of The Hills' is a historic, charming cottage set in picturesque gardens in the beautiful valley of Wandiligong, in the adventure-lovers mecca that is the magnificent north east Victorian high county. Part of the iconic 'Bennetts General Store' complex, this cosy two-bedroom cottage retains many period features and has all the amenities for a peaceful, comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The inviting cottage has all the amenities required for a lovely stay; a double master bedroom complete with fresh linen, new carpet, period furniture (including a delightful art-deco hand crafted antique bed), large built in robes and beautiful lead light windows overlooking the expansive lawn and garden. The older style kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with a sink, stove, crockery and fridge; plus a large TV and DVD player with an extensive choice of movies. The large, adjoining sunroom hosts two cosy antique single beds, with stunning views to the hills and beyond. A rustic external bathroom with shower (the best shower head around) and basin, separate toilet and east-facing verandah complete the package. plenty of room to store the bikes and gear after a jam-packed day adventuring.
The cottage is located on an acre of beautifully lush established gardens and expansive green lawns, just perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring the alpine region. A large timber outdoor table and barbeque area are located just metres from the cottage; bring a spread and enjoy long, balmy evenings outdoors in the summer.
Free on-site parking for two cars and the cottage can be accessed privately through direct street access.
Linen is provided at the cottage so there is no need to bring your own, but please bring along your own towels.
Crockery, cutlery and cooking essentials are all provided.
Basic coffee and tea making facilities are provided, but no other food or drinks are offered. There is a large fridge in which to store all provisions and plenty of cupboard space.
