Our lessons are 2 hours long . the first thing you do is get in a wetsuit on location then we start our clients out with a 15 minute sand demo teaching you the basics of surfing: how to pop up and paddle, we will give you the tools needed to surf(: and go over safety. For the rest of the lesson you will be catching waves and doing what you learned on the sand demo and translating it in the water! (We pride our selves at Bluewatersurf on giving the best lessons out there in Orange County All of our equipment is provided by a local surf shop and is top of the line, our wetsuits will keep you warm and toasty out there, and our boards are great for begginers and easily ridable! Enjoy the gorgeous coastline of Newport Beach, CA in an adventurous new way by joining me to explore local kelp forests and encounter the animals that call it home! This is a unique and exciting activity that will expand your mind by exposing you to the diverse ecosystem waiting for you under the sea. We will commonly encounter great schools of Sargo moving in unison, Kelp Bass eyeing us uneasily from the shadows of the kelp forest and Sheepshead overseeing their harems. Also, we may be joined by playful harbor seals who are endlessly curious about our presence in their environment. We will meet at the top of the hill, select each participant's equipment and then gear up on the beach to swim out to the kelp forest. After our adventure, we will have an opportunity to prepare our catch as maki sushi, aguachile and uni sashimi using the sea urchins’ caviar while we relish the ocean's bounty at the shoreline. Cruise the waters of Newport Harbor! Glide down the channel enjoying the sights, marine life and serenity of sailing with Lively and her captain acting as your private guides to the beautiful waters of Newport. You can feel free to sit back and enjoy the sail, or learn about interesting houses and boats from the captain and crew. Most sails are 3 hours from casting off to tying back up at the dock. Other things to note: When you arrive at the marina be sure to have sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a bottle of water and a light jacket.
