You will learn which beaches are good for surfing, which for swimming and which for snorkelling, where are the places where you can spot animals, where is the best Caribbean restaurant and where to go if you are craving sushi; where to dance the night away or listen to live music whether it is jazz or reggae.You will also learn about local culture, lifestyle and history of Puerto Viejo. From beginners to veteran riders, we have the surfing experience for you. We will give you a two-hour surfing lesson that includes a 10-minute theory class on the beach. You will learn basic techniques—how to paddle, the right position on the board, and so on. You will learn about ocean currents and how to be safe in the water. Then we will take you to the ocean for about an hour and forty-five minutes. You can apply everything you learned as you take your first waves. Our instructors are ocean-certified lifeguards and professional surf instructors, who are experts and enthusiasts, providing you with the best conditions, using the best equipment, and in the most fun way. You'll learn the entire process from tree to bar, making chocolate from scratch: roasting, grinding, tempering then molding. With tasting all along the way. Starting with the trees I'll talk about cultivation and harvesting and the role of fermentation and drying in the flavours of the chocolate. Then we'll make chocolate. You'll be grinding beans in our cast iron hand mill and winnowing the old fashioned way, then I'll be sharing the secrets of tempering before the delicate practice of molding the bars. Puerto Viejo has a long long history of cacao production and I'll share that history with you, talking about the characters and stories of the area as we teach you how to make great chocolate. You'll be joining our happy, tiny team of 4. There will be lots to learn and taste, from cacao lore to flavor development, this is a full experience! This experience is the most hands on in the area, you will get chocolate on you! Other things to note We are a short walk from Puerto Viejo along the beautiful black sand beach of Playa Negra. Our farm is a forest of fruit, native and nut trees and the coolness of lush jungle is refreshing.

We'll finish off the experience with a refreshing dip and a bit of relaxing at a beautiful waterfall, where we'll drink from coconuts. Un tour para conocer naturaleza y viajar en trasporte público costarricense (tren y autobús). El plan es poder conocer uno de los majestuosos volcanes que tiene Costa Rica: ¡Volcán Irazú! Sin duda alguna la temática central es poder visitar el volcán y conocer de cerca sus cráteres a través de un mirador. No obstante, la idea es que tome el tren de San José a Cartago, donde le encontraremos en la estación, para caminar por la ciudad de Cartago, que fue hace muchos años atrás la capital de Costa Rica, donde podremos conocer más información acerca de la historia de la Antigua Metrópoli. Seguidamente, abordaremos juntos el autobús con destino al Volcán Irazú (si usted lo desea podemos contratar transporte privado, pago adicional). Una vez estemos en el Parque Nacional Volcán Irazú podremos ver de cerca, gracias a un mirador que proporciona el parque, el cráter Diego de La Haya, Playa Hermosa, el cráter Principal y subiremos hasta el punto más alto del lugar. Visitaremos lugares como las famosas Ruinas, la Basílica de los Ángeles, la Plaza Mayor, el Mercado y hasta el Antiguo Cuartel Militar de la ciudad. Would you love to see a sloth in it's natural habita on a Caribbean beach? Punta Uva serves as a favorite among visitors. It’s a small town that has stunning beaches, wildlife, a quiet atmosphere with beautiful viewpoints. You will be kayaking and walking the jungle trails and beaches with a professional guide visiting a amazing viewpoint and a cave. You'll learn about history, culture, plants and wildlife while searching for a sloth out in the wild. The Caribbean Jungle is home to more than 300 bird species, big blue butterflies, interesting insects and other animals like poison dart frogs, iguanas, snakes, sloths, armadillos, several species of monkeys among others. We believe every animal is a important part of an ecosystem and that they don't belong behind a fence for human show. So the best way to support the sustainability is by ecotourism activities like this one. This tour is in search of wildlife so there's a possibility that we might not see what we are out to find. The sloths are not in cages and move around freely on this beach and sometimes but hardly ever just don't want to be seen. But 99% of the time we do find them and see up to 10 or more on good days.

Come with me on a mini-vacation as you experience how to “live like a local” as we have a mindfulness walk on my favorite beachside trail and pause for yoga & meditation along the way! You will stroll with me in beautiful and calm surroundings close to Playa Cocles, in a special quiet, magical part of the beach where I find peace and serenity every day. In addition I will explain you about the local environment and ecosystem and how everything works together here in the jungle. You will receive a local experience that opens you a new world! We will meet at a central point at the entrance to Spicy Coconut/Villas de Caribe and walk a serene trail to the beach and natural bathing pools. Here, I will show you a beautiful and very easy hike in nature along the beach and we stop at beautiful places to practice a gentle yoga sequence and mindfulness to connect more with yourself and the nature here. Each experience takes about 90 mins total, about 40 minutes of Yoga. You will learn about the local habitat, walk along the water, see stunning old trees and native plants, and wildlife. Other things to note: All levels are welcome and guest can choose whether they desire a restorative yoga class, vinyasa flow, or more of a fitness/pilates style. You don’t need a yoga mat. Please bring a sarong to sit upon and lay down in the sand. Wearing a bathing suit is recommended!

Durante la cena le estaremos explicando detalles sobre la cultura y historia afrocaribeña de nuestra zona, en tiempos pasados este platillo se preparaba en dias Domingo en la casa de cada familia, este era el dia de descanso de nuestros padres y antepasados que laboraban en las fincas produciendo nuestros alimentos desde el dia Lunes a Sabado. You are welcome to come to my restaurant were I will teach you our secrets and personal style of caribbean cooking First we are going to talk about our basic ingredients but must be in every caribean dish. Then we are going to start preparing all together our caribbean meal. The menu is the typical sunday´s at grandmas place. After churche on Sunday all familys goes to grandmas, kids play around and mens cut coconuts to make coconut milk while woman prepare the the food. At the end all seat together, put big plats in the middle of the table and share food and histories. The meeting point is infront of the "Colono" in the "Cruze de Hone Creek". It is a big shop right at the road from Puerto Viejo to Cahuita. At this point there is also the crossing with the road that leaves the coast and leads to Bribri, Sixaola and the indigenous territory. It's easiest if you have your own car. If not please contact me, so I can organize transportation (it's not included in the price of the tour!) Starting at the "Colono" I will show you the way to get into the indigenous territory and we will visit Catatu's family project. There you will get to know the taste of traditional bribri chocolate and I'll show you how it is made from growing the cocoa, procesing it until the ancestral cocoa drink. Depending on your interest I love to share more about my culture, such as medicinal plants, language, blow dart, histories and handcrafts. The tour includes traditional lunch with my family. There is also the possibility to buy handcrafts made in the area. Before the tour ends we will have the chance to visit the waterfall of Bribri and have a nice refreshing bath.

On this tour, we'll get away from the typical tourist spots to spend a quiet afternoon exploring the hone creek river in kayaks. The tour starts at the tip of Playa Negra,close to where the river meets the ocean. From the kayaks, you'll have a unique view of the Southern Caribbean's natural beauty while we glide through the rainforest and past banana plantations. After a few turns, the sound of the waves crashing on the beach which accompanied us at the beginning, subside and the only sounds you'll hear are those of the forest and the creatures inhabiting it. You are likely to hear the howling of the monkeys, the moving of the bushes as herons come flying out of the undergrowth and fish jumping in the river. We may stop for a while to watch a family of monkeys playing in the trees, or to admire one of several species of herons and other birds posing on a tree trunk in the river. We'll keep our eyes out for sloth and iguanas in the trees and otters, fish and maybe even an alligator in the river. I would recommend this tour to birdwatchers and any nature lover wanting an authentic nature experience. For you safety and comfort, we'll use sturdy fishing kayaks with seats and life jackets are provided. To keep it personal, we only use either 2 single kayaks, or 1 single and 1 double for participants with children sharing the double with a parent or myself.

Mi experiencia los profundizara a conocer más vivir la cultura indígena Bribri. Una de las culturas más interesantes por su manera de vivir en armonía con la naturaleza. Los llevare a conocer mis pueblos, donde crecí aprendiendo mis raíces indígenas, trasmitido de generación en generación, donde trabajamos sosteniblemente ayudando a familias de los territorios. Gracias a Sibö (El ser súper indígena Dios) tuve la oportunidad crecer en los territorio indígena aprender la sabiduría de nuestros antepasados, amar y cuidar la naturaleza, donde desperté un deseo de rescatar mi cultura y compartirla con las personas que nos visitan. En el territorio disfrutaremos de imponentes montañas, hermosos ríos, su criolla cocina, vida simple, actividades ancestrales, como la preparación del cacao una bebida sagrada, su lengua Bribri, su medicina natural y su cosmovisión. Realmente es una cultura muy rica en conocimientos para aprender de ella, en una experticia única.

My experience is about learning and enjoying the African MOVEMENTS in Latin music. You are understanding the root of body movements to the rhythms from the African culture. A crash course if you will! You will enjoy Afro-Latin dance in a whole new way. Do not expect a Zumba or yoga class! In my dance experience, we explore the BASIC steps of the Afro-Diaspora culture dances. The essential body moves to dance to all the most famous music found in Latin America taught by a native. To understand a culture you must experience its food, music, and dance. For us, dance is a celebration, a way of life! We will warm up to AFRICAN drums, and learn basic BACHATA steps. build according to the individual and group dynamics and move on to the SALSA beats. To wrap it up, we will celebrate with SOCCA and/or AFROBEATS. Never sit down again while the music is playing. We may dance in a group but sometimes it can be just you and me!
