In der heimeligen Lavvo am Lagerfeuer schmecken die lappischen Pfannkuchen mit geräuchertem Rentierfleisch gleich doppelt so gut. Zur Nachspeise serviere ich lappischen Kaffee vom Feuer & lappischen Käse mit Beerensauce. Für Vegetarier / Veganer bereite ich die Pfannkuchen vegetarisch / vegan zu. Wir bewegen uns gerne in der Natur in Lappland, deshalb ist Kochen und Grillen auf dem offenen Feuer hier fester Bestandteil der Kultur. Die Einheimischen wissen ein gutes Lagerfeuer sehr zu schätzen. Experience a unique moment to feed reindeer with a local reindeer herder in authentic setting in the winter nature scenery in the peaceful location of Kairala village in Pelkosenniemi. Kairala is located 145 km from Rovaniemi (2 hours' drive). There is no public transportation in the area, so you need your own car. After we have finished with feeding, you can enjoy a warm berry juice or coffee with a local pastry by an open fire and hear more about the reindeer and reindeer husbandry in Finnish Lapland. You will be guided by an English-speaking local reindeer herder, who is eager to share this tradition and the way of living. Enjoy the winter magic, find peace of mind and feel the powerful movements of a horse when walking in the deep snow. In the beginning we will prepare horses together in the stable and then move to our riding area where all safety instructions are given. After that the trip may begin. We will ride through the snowy forest. The ride is about 1 hour and we are only walking (no trotting or galloping). After the trip we take care of the horses and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Other things to note Lucky Ranch is located 130 km north from Rovaniemi. You can get here by bus or by renting a car. Pyhä Ski Resort is 10 km from our place. On this wilderness skiing tour you'll get a taste of adventure in a snowy wilderness at Pyhätunturi. You will get to ski in the beautiful and tranquil snowy backcountry around Pyhä-Luosto area with easy-to-use wilderness skis. You get to access the untouched snowfields and experience the beautiful arctic wilderness of Finnish Lapland. The wilderness skis are designed to excel in snowy terrain of Lapland. These skis are wide and rather short by design and they have integrated skins in the base making them a go to choice in variable winter terrain. Your guide will instruct and teach you the correct and efficient technique for wilderness skiing so this tour is suitable for the absolute beginner as well. The tour includes local snacks ro light lunch and warm drinks enjoyed by an open fire to keep you energised. I will pick you up from your accommodation and take you straight out of the city light pollution to the spot with the highest probability to see Northern lights. In case it is cloudy, then we visit 2-3 places to increase the chances to find a gap in the clouds. While waiting for the Northern Lights, we can enjoy hot drinks and snacks grilled on a campfire. Note, if you are vegetarian/vegan, let me know before the tour. In case you do not know the right setting for your camera to take photos of the Northern lights then I can help you and take photos of you with the Northern lights. We will pick you up from you accomodation around 20:00. and go far away from city light to perfect location with open view to north to maximize our chance to see northernlights. I will let you know everything about northernlights and hunting. We will make photos as well on professional camera. Food from the clean nature of Lapland Appetizers: bread, wild mushroom sauce, cold smoked moose (elk), hot berry juice. Main course: Sauteed reindeer meat, mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam and pickles Dessert: Lapland cheese stewed in cream and self-picked cloudberries. Nous allons nous retrouver à la réception de votre de votre hébergement. Nous montons dans une voiture, puis nous nous échappons du centre-ville, vers le spot à proximité du lac (le temps de conduite estimé depuis la ville centre environ 20 - 30 minutes, selon l'état de la route). We will be there eating with you and we hope that while eating, we can learn something more about each others cultures and ways of living. Event will take about 2,5 hours of time. You will be picked up from your accommodation in IVALO (max 4 person). We will wear helmets on and warm socks and winter boots, if you need. Hopefully you have own warm winter clothes with you; if necessary you can also rent warm overalls from the main place. You will sit on a sledge of snowmobile between reindeer hides. Your guide is a driver of the snowmobile. We will ride a new ecological snowmobile to the huge forest and a frozen lake in the wilderness, where we will make a hole in the ice and test very clean and clear water. We will see different animal steps on the snow and try to see reindeer which live like wild animals. Your guide will tell you about wildlife. Along the way, we drink hot berry juice and eat some cookies. At the same time, we will listen complete silence of nature. The tour will end back in IVALO and you will be dropped off to your accommodation by car (max 4 person). We will begin our hunt for the Northern Lights in the evening from Pyhätunturi ski resort area where you will receive the equipment (skis or snowshoes depending on your liking) needed for the adventure in the snowy backcountry. Prior skiing experience is not needed on this tour. We will ski or snowshoe in the untouched snow with headlamps and on a clear night we'll also have the moon and stars lighting our way. We will tour to an open space where we will look for the Northern Lights. Given the right conditions we have the possibility to see the beautiful Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) against the dark night sky. We will stop for a break, start a fire together to keep warm and you will get to enjoy local Arctic snacks and hot beverages by the fire while looking up the sky searching for the magical Northern Lights. Please note that the best possibility to see Auroras is in clear weather, when the stars are visible in the sky. It's important to remember that Auroras are not visible every night and therefore seeing the Northern Lights during the activity can't be guaranteed.
