This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (a few inclines for five minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.3 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

Don’t stick your fingers in the cage, they will bite.* In general-We will learn about all the farm animals here, ducks, geese, chickens, bunnies and goats. Walk carefully with proper shoes and clothing, be prepared to get dirty! Our day trip will take you on a special journey; we’re going to have fun, eat well, walk in the wild, and show you our favorite parts of the National Park. We keep our groups small; you may join a few other explorers (we limit our trips at ten guests) from all over the world. We’ll pick you up from downtown Seattle at a stop convenient to you, then we head for the mountain! We’ll stop along the way to stretch our legs and have a little breakfast, coffee and tea. In the National Park we’ll see giant old growth trees, icy waterfalls, and watch for elk, bears and birds. We’ll ditch the van to explore several mellow trails and share secrets of the volcano’s diverse ecosystems and wonder at some of the most pristine and stunning wilderness in the world. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before booking to make sure this is the experience for you and you are prepared. When you get here we will immediately go into the goat, mini horse, mini donkey, mini cow and pig pasture and love on them. We can also feed the Alpacas and Chickens. Sometimes they do get full in the afternoon so feeding may not happen. While visiting I will be actively working in the fields, but am always ready to answer question you may have. Because I am an animal sanctuary I take in all animals. Most are super loving, but some require special instruction to interact with. Parents please help kids follow the rules so everyone remains safe. Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind a dirty on, especially in the rainy season. Tall waterproof Boot are VERY recommended. Even if it isn’t raining there is thick mud to walk through in the wet month. This is a true animal farm. Poop, mud, and dirt are apart of it. Join me at my home in NW Seattle to learn about from an experienced mushroom forager and grower. I will guide you through the process of finding and identifying the most popular edible mushrooms for beginners. We will use photo, video, custom-made illustrated guides, and preserved mushrooms to learn the basics of identification. I will share where I go, and how I look for new spots. I also have a mini mushroom lab where I will demonstrate the process of growing mushrooms at home. *** This is not a foraging tour *** Please ask about alternate times, booking guided tours, or team building events.

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and glass blowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses and a face mask with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! This is a very interactive and creative glassblowing experience for you to learn about and enjoy the techniques of "lamp-work" glassblowing style in a personal, one-on-one setting. We keep our group size small so you can have a lot of hands-on time on the torch. Our glassblowing experience is set up for 2-4 people and lasts approx. 1 hour per person. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, please try to book with another group or another single person. Your group can choose between two glassblowing styles: 1.) Blown Glasswork Experience or 2.) Solid Glasswork Sculpting Experience Example photos of each approach are in the listing. Once you arrive, Jason will go over the fundamentals of glassblowing and the safety rules. After that, he will explain and demonstrate a few basic moves on the torch, and then it's your turn to "PLAY WITH FIRE"! I will gently encourage everyone to take a turn steering the boat, to feel the uniting force of wind and water. After all these years, I still find it enchanting. We will leave the dock at Shilshole Bay Marina, motor out past the city’s famed Golden Gardens Park, watch for sea lions loafing on the Meadow Point buoy, and then set sail, heading West across Puget Sound toward the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Along the way we will watch for orcas, schools of Dahl’s porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals, jumping salmon, bald eagles, great blue herons, cormorants, diving gulls, and other wildlife. On the Sunset Cruise we will keep a careful watch as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains, for the resulting lightshow is something you will want to capture on camera. As the sun drops behind the well-named Mount Olympus and other peaks in the range, it often illuminates the feathery horizon clouds into glorious colors. The White Salmon River flows through a collapsed lava tube coming off Mt. Adams, a designated Wild and Scenic area - it's stunning. Expect to paddle several rapids, the size of the rapids and length of the trip changes with the seasons. Shorter trip length and larger rapids during high water spring time. We'll meet at Northwestern Park just outside of White Salmon WA, across the river from from Hood River. It's an hour and a half from Portland in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We'll be rafting the White Salmon River, an estuary of the Columbia. After introductions we'll outfit you with a wetsuit, wetsuit booties, helmet and personal floatation device. We'll then take a short van ride to the put in. After an informative river orientation talk we walk down a path to the river, the noise of the rapids ever growing as we descend! Three hours later we'll be back at our cars; Photos of the trip as well as merchandise will be for sale. You may choose to bring a picnic and relax in the park after our trip or check out downtown White Salmon and Hood River. We are going to explore the forest to seek out some of the most interesting mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest. Some mushrooms require very specific habitats to grow and I will help you learn to find them yourself. We will hold, touch, smell, and maybe even taste a small piece of some mushrooms to identify them. I will point out the characteristics that I use for identification, as well as features that would help us differentiate from similar looking species. I will also tell you my process for selecting areas that are likely to have some of the most prized mushrooms like boletes, chanterelles, and morels. We will spend about 2 hours walking through the forest both on and off trail. We will gather certain mushrooms for further inspection and if we come across cdibles, we can take a selection of these back with us as well. It is difficult to predict when and where mushrooms are fruiting and I can't guarantee we will find large quantities of edible mushrooms. The tour to the area near the highest volcano (14,410 feet) in the Cascade Mountain range, Mt. Rainier, will begin with picking you up in downtown Seattle and driving to Mt. Rainier area. We will be hiking for about a mile and picnic while enjoying the marvelous views of Mt. Rainier and its glaciers. We will walk in old growth forest among thousand year old big trees and see beautiful waterfalls, lakes, and rivers.

This experience includes visiting two different waterfalls and includes over 1 mile of hiking. This is a unique opportunity to venture into the temperate rainforests of the Cascades. To breathe in the fresh air of the forest and see trees that are several hundred feet tall and equally as old. This is an experience for someone who is interested in getting a workout in the morning. Each participant will get one lb of clay and a separate pottery wheel with all the required tools. The instructor will give a step-by-step demonstration and guide you through a variety of techniques. At the end of the session you have the following options: 1- Walk out with your raw pottery creation. Or, 2- (Optional) Glaze your creation and fire it for $30. Or, 3- (Optional) Just fire -bisque it for $10 Other things to note: Firing and Glazing are not included in your purchase. Firing and glazing your creation is optional at an extra cost as listed above. Firing pottery takes a couple of weeks at our studio but we can always ship it to your place anywhere in the USA. Please ask for shipping details at the front desk. What to wear? Shirts and shoes are required. Clay comes out of fabric without much effort, but we always suggest wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

When you get here we will immediately go into the goat, mini horse, mini donkey, mini cow and pig pasture and love on them. We can also feed the Alpacas and Chickens. Sometimes they do get full in the afternoon so feeding may not happen. While visiting I will be actively working in the fields, but am always ready to answer question you may have. Because I am an animal sanctuary I take in all animals. Most are super loving, but some require special instruction to interact with. Parents please help kids follow the rules so everyone remains safe. Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind a dirty on, especially in the rainy season. Tall waterproof Boot are VERY recommended. Even if it isn’t raining there is thick mud to walk through in the wet month. This is a true animal farm. Poop, mud, and dirt are apart of it.
