Penang Heritage Walk With Warren
What better way to start your Penang holiday than with a short introduction on its history and heritage? This affordable heritage walk does just that. We will stroll along a heritage trail that I have carefully charted. During the walk, I will point out bits and pieces of physical but not obvious historical evidences, evidences of forgotten stories of love and hate, of joy and anguish, of unrequited love and last goodbyes, of turmoil and peace, even of babies, mommies and daddies, including the mysterious dragon in Chinese mythology. Ours is a leisurely non-stressful walk that whole families will enjoy. Speaking of which, families that walk together stay together. Thus, children accompanying their parents on this affordable, information-packed tour walk for free. We will walk into the 100-year-old oldest but still functioning wet market in Penang. We will see the oldest Indian Muslim restaurant (established 1907 but still very popular) on the island, and we will have a visualization of the origin of the now very famous nasi kandar. Before the end of the walk, we will get to see a sad island, and learn the story of why it is an island that nobody wants.
