Night Hike the Jurassic Coast
There is so little time or opportunity nowadays to experience the countryside and coast at night, away from the blinding glare of street lights and vehicles. My Night Hike on the Jurassic Coast takes you to a quiet part of coastline that is completely free of all light pollution and rich in wildlife. We will follow well maintained tracks and paths from the village of Worth Matravers in Purbeck along the ancient Priests Way and down winding valleys to the wave-washed rocks at Seacombe or Winspit Coves. From here we walk along a fenced clifftop path back to the Square and Compass pub in Worth Matravers and on the way I tell tales of the shipwrecked sailors and smugglers that haunt the surrounding cliffs and valleys Along the way there is a possibility of seeing a variety of nocturnal wildlife such as deer, badgers, bats and owls. If we are lucky the sky will be clear of clouds and we can enjoy some wonderful star gazing. Other things to note The route follows well maintained paths and tracks for the entire route but it is often VERY muddy and slippery so please bring suitable footwear with good grippy soles. Bright and comfortable head torches can be provided but bring you own if you wish.

Halnaker tree tunnel and windmill walk
Join me on a leisurely 4-mile walk (lasting 2 to 2.5 hours) through the beautiful Sussex countryside, into the South Downs National Park via an ancient hollow way following in the footsteps of Romans, commoners and a king fleeing for his life! We'll start our walk in a village just a ten-minute drive (20-minute by bus) north of Chichester, passing through vineyards, farmland and a beautiful tunnel of trees. After a short walk uphill, we'll see the restored windmill and have time to admire the 360° views of the Sussex countryside. The Isle of Wight can be seen from here on a clear day. Learn about Boxgrove Man, the oldest human remains ever found in England, a Neolithic settlement and see WWII radio direction-finding structures. Hear local folktales and learn a little Sussex dialect. Depending on the time of year, we may see a range of butterflies and birds, including buzzards and skylarks and, if we are very lucky, we may see some deer. Chichester is the nearest railway station. There is a regular bus service from there to the meeting point. Other things to note: This is an easy walk but it is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties due to several stiles on the route. The route can be very muddy after rain. Alternative times/and dates are possible on request. There are no public toilets in the village. Parking is available at the meeting point.

An Introduction to Ring Carving in Winchester
Lost wax casting is a 5,000 year old technique used for creating jewellery. It starts with sculpting or carving a wax object. This is then placed into a one-time-use mould, and the wax is melted out, leaving a perfect ‘negative’ form. The metal is then poured into the mould, leaving you with a metal (in this case, silver) version of the wax, exactly as you created it. Throughout the duration of this experience, Emily will teach you all that you need to know to create a bespoke ring, just for you. Starting with a simple piece of wax tube, you will go through techniques for sizing, shaping and adding texture to your wax. At the end of three hours, the wax piece will then be left with Emily to organise the casting (the transformation into silver), who will then complete the ring with your desired finish. The ring will then be delivered back to you (normally within 2 weeks), nicely packaged and with a couple of little goodies to help you take care of it. If you're visiting from abroad, please get in touch before booking to discuss logistics.

Copper Bowl Making in Winchester
Starting with a sheet of brass or copper, Emily will show you how to tidy up the edges of a simple shape to ensure they are not sharp. The main body of the experience will be learning how to shape the piece of copper into a bowl, understanding how to create a curved form known as ‘sinking’. There will also be an opportunity to add detailing and character with various tools. Not only will you leave this experience with a delightful piece to add to your home, you will also have a hands-on appreciation of just how important handcraft skills are and the work that goes into even the simplest of crafts. In a world of rushing, fast consumption and excess, take the time to spend an evening to learn about a slower craft and appreciate the handmade.

Mountain Biking - an off road experience
Uxbridge is my home town and love living near so much green space, canal and rivers. I have a great passion for off road cycling and have found my own routes via local public trails, canal towpaths and open fields. The routes themselves vary in distance and all start from the Grand Union Canal. Occasionally parts of a route may involve cycling on a road for short while. These roads are generally not busy with heavy traffic. Though I have listed routes below, I am very much open to adapting certain routes to suite you best. Very flexible here as want to make sure you have the best enjoyable experience on the bike!
Award-winning axe throwing experience in Southampton
After a warm welcome to our throwing cages we'll jump right into a safety briefing. This covers how to stay safe, scoring and competition rules (we can't have any cheating at crunch time can we?). Then it is to the reason you guys are all here, the AXES. We'll run through the basic technique, how to hold and how to throw the axe. Once we're through this, it is down to you to have a go! I'll be on hand throughout the session, watching your throw, offering advice on how you can improve. What is really important to me is that you start to understand your own technique so when you finally leave, you're a fully fledged axe ninja! Once the basics are out of the way it's quickly onto a wide selection of new throws, double-handed, throwing with the axe head facing backwards, throwing 2 axes at once. These will all help you to develop a strong technique in time for our rapid fire round and then ..the team COMPETITON! Pit your skills against the others in your group, competition mode always brings out some strong axe game! Finally, If we have any time left over at the end I'll show you a trick shot or two that only the pro's get to use Other things to note We are unable to accept bookings from those under 16 years of age or pregnant. Guests will not be permitted to partake in the activity if they are intoxicated and please wear sensible shoes, no sandals!

Create a bonsai
Ever wanted to try something completely different? Great! You'll be surprised by what you can achieve and you'll be proud to show off the bonsai you've created. I'll greet you with a glass of Prosecco (or soft drink) and - demonstrate how to turn a small tree into a bonsai by pruning, wiring and potting. Then it's your turn to - choose a tree and use your newly acquired skills to create a bonsai I love sharing my passion for bonsai and I believe that it is more fun to create a bonsai than buy one ready-made - and much easier than it looks! My experiences have been described as fun and enjoyable as well as therapeutic and informative. You'll also have the opportunity to look around my 'amazing' peaceful garden setting and be inspired by my bonsai in development. By providing all the trees, soil, wire, pots and equipment, you'll create your very own bonsai with guidance if you wish. I keep the group size small and you can work individually or as a team to discuss the options each tree presents, as well as sharing your success. I'll also provide after-care tips so that you can keep and develop your trees for many years. Ideal for friends, colleagues, families, hen parties or anyone wishing to learn something new in a fun, friendly and informal setting. More dates available on request or I can come to your garden!
