The ORIGINAL Costa Rica Airbnb Waterfall Experience. If you are looking to experience the real culture, nature and beauty of Costa Rica, this is the Experience you are looking for. We will take you to Las Monas (the monkeys) Rainforest around 5 minutes away from Jaco. It is a 25 minute hike in to the jungle you will be learning about the natural vegetation used for medicine by the natives of Las Monas. The Experience lasts 2.5-3.5 hours depending on how long you would like to be at each waterfall and swim in the natural pools. You do not have to swim if you do not want to. Once we get to the Waterfalls you will get to swim in the 10 natural pools or jump from the top of the waterfalls. On our way back you will have the pleasure to taste the local cuisine at La Casita del Sabor (The Home of Flavor), cooked by the Grandmother of Las Monas town. It is the perfect tour if you want to be one with nature and local culture. *IMPORTANT* Hike starts easy & gets a more difficult as the hike goes on so not suited for anyone with a handicap or something that may put you at a disadvantage. Approx from the start of the river to the 1st waterfall is 1km (15-20 minutes) then will see new waterfalls every 50-100 meters. I would love to take you to some epic waterfalls in Jaco area. We will hike and enjoy 12 waterfalls where you can swim in natural pools.. jumping is optional. GO TO THE OCEAN! 2 hours Surf Lesson with David Segura, Surf Instructor (ISA Certificate) also 20 years experience teach surfing in Jaco Beach and the area. Once on the beach we will talk about the characteristics of the waves and a description of the beach. Then we will do a little surfing theory class to learn the safety recommendations, surfboard manipulation, correct positioning for paddling, correct positioning of the body on the board, how to get up, balance and posture, recognition of when to grab the wave, and how to enjoy it to the fullest. Then we will practice surfing in the sea. We will use one instructor for every two students to ensure good service and safety. The class can be in shallow water for those who are not used to the ocean. If yo don't know how to swim, it will be not a problem. We can do the practice where you can stand on your feet. For the inter-mediums or more advanced we can go out to the line up. It will always depend on swell conditions too.

This is not a commercial coffee tour, it is an educational experience to create awareness in the only organic specialty coffee plantation in the Monteverde area, located in the Ecological Sanctuary, a 48 hectares family project focused on conservation, sustainability, agroecology, education and culture. In a guided workshop by an expert where you will learn from the basics of ancestral agriculture, how we create our own organic fertilizers, then you will know the coffee gardens planted in the forest that surrounds the Ecological Sanctuary, the drying area, and the process that involves the specialty coffee (history, plantations, growth, development, varieties and the science of flavor to prepare a good coffee). After leaving the forest, we will enjoy a guided coffee tasting, sharpening the senses to recognize defects, attributes, aromas and flavors in different qualities of coffee. Finally, we will create an interactive demonstration of the science of flavor and all the variables that an alchemist applies in the preparation of a coffee using different infusion methods. I do this so you are fully prepared to be an independent surfer who is able to catch green, unbroken waves – one of the best feelings in the world! Our first surf lesson will consist of 30 minutes on surfing theory and water safety. Here, we will touch on topics such as conditions, tides, different kinds of waves and how to read them (i.e. wind, swell and signals). On the beach, we will go through a few drills to make sure you have a solid base and technique. Next, it’s time to hit the water! Once we are in the ocean, every student will have personalized attention. I'll be guiding you through the process and helping you catch your firsts waves, a unique and completely memorable experience! By the end of the lesson our goal is to have you be as independent as possible, you will be able to recognize which waves to catch and how to stand up completely alone. As the night grows dark, we'll step into our comfortable kayaks and get ready for a personal encounter with this remarkable phenomenon. We will lead you to the best spots, where sparkling algae accumulates. For a full hour, you will be enchanted by how every stroke of your paddle leaves behind a swirl of light, and fish light up their path like shooting stars in the water. The more YOU splash the water the more bioluminescent light you will experience. You are in command, the algae will NOT glow on its own, you have to ACTIVATE it with YOUR hands or the paddle. Come a bit early to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the bay and a nice cup of Costa Rican coffee, juice, and some snacks. You'll get a briefing, a suitable life jacket, before we go to the launch area for the kayaks. It will be like going on a cozy family tour, as the maximum group size is 10 people. We'll stop along the way, and explain more about the magical glowing water and marine life in the bay. Then you will enjoy a relaxing boat ride into the stunning waters of Tambor Bay looking out to the lush jungle views onshore. Next is an opportunity to explore The Pochote Mangrove to enjoy the nature in another level. We will meet in Montezuma's charming "downtown" for a bike fitting and safety check. We provide the mountain bikes, helmets, and fruit. We'll briefly chat about your past riding experience and abilities, and then gently roll out together on our most popular signature route, called "Easy Cruiser". Guests are required to have some cycling experience, but basic techniques (braking, etc) can be reviewed. This coastal route is a super scenic, relatively flat two-hour spin (200 feet of elevation change), and can be done at a very relaxed pace if you like. We will occasionally stop at select "off the tourist track" points of interest, and possibly take a quick plunge in the crystal blue "Rio Lajas". Also, we may be able ride to Cabuya Island on an amazing land bridge (tide dependent). As we circle back to Montezuma, there will be an opportunity to take an optional refreshing dip in a beautiful, hidden waterfall. Other things to note. We recommend drinking extra water prior to the ride so you are well hydrated. Also, please let us know if you have any relevant health issues. If you have your own bicycling shoes with cleats, please specify which type and we may have the pedals to match. We will bring tools for bike fitting.
