This listing is for exclusive renting 3 private bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, BBQ grill, patio. Guests' hallway wall is attached to the right side of our house, similar to a townhouse/duplex. Central HVAC, 3 TVs with 2 roku, sling cable, netflix. A common area is available to be used, if requested. Private entries. Shared backyard, playground, parking, trampoline, bikes, toys, kitchen, and pool (when our kids decide to use them); all else is private.
Home is ideal for groups who enjoy a camp-style setting i.e. outdoor cooking/hanging out with nature but with the added bonus of modern conveniences of central HVAC, TVs, laundry room in the suites, and full fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and egg boiler. Guests can enjoy our backyard with landscape that resembles a tropical rainforest (but without the crazy humidity typical of tropics or year-round rainfall typical of rainforests; do expect rain during winter season). In this backyard next to the playground, there is a huge concrete play area for playing with chalks, ride bikes/scooters, jump the trampoline, climb, play slides, etc. Or jump in the pool and enjoy the slide while enjoying the smores around the firepit or BBQ.
Guests can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of trees, flowers, birds, squirrels, butterflies, and quietness in a safe neighborhood.
A small desk and chair is in the 2nd bedroom; 2 black chairs and 3 chairs with red leather cushions are spread throughout the suites. Stored in the laundry room are an ironing board with iron, extra towels, 2 foldable tables (1 square, 1 rectangular), hair dryer, and 6 foldable chairs with leather cushions.
There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, a twin bunk bed, smart TV, a kid table, and the other two bedrooms have 3 queen beds; master closet has two floor twin mattresses, a small make-up table, 2 foldable kids' chairs, some board games, books, kids' toys, and an office chair.
The size of the suites, including laundry room, is 19’6” x 44’2. A separate common area is also available to be used free of charge, if requested, but it is not part of the rental of this listing.
Outside for you to use exclusively, adjacent to master bedroom is a picnic table with attached bench, and your own patio chairs to sit 9 (behind security gate), and 2 more patio tables with chairs to sit 8 next to pool. Common area has a leather couch with two recliners and a leather loveseat and 10 foldable chairs (more foldable chairs stored next to pool)
Additional amenities include a full fridge with a freshly-filled alkaline RO water jug, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, an egg boiler, rice cooker, a portable electric stove, coffee & creamer, hot chocolate, a picnic basket, a picnic mat, and disposables; kitchen pots/pans/utensils & additional drinking water can be provided when requested. You will have your own separate private lock/door for entry, and the common area is ideal for recreational purposes (i.e. sitting room to watch TV, talk, etc.), and it seats 8 guests comfortably. We do not recommend guests sleep in the common area; there is no central AC/heating, but a portable heater/AC is provided. Although previous owners have used this space as a sleeping area by installing drywall, flooring, concrete foundation, and electricals, but since we took ownership, city is now not permitting anyone to "sleep, eat, or live" in this area. Guests assume full liability when using this detached sitting room. It is not part of the rental of this listing, but we offer it free of charge as additional courtesy for those who would like to use it.
Kids, especially next to the pool, must always be under adult supervision. To keep little ones away from the pool area, please keep the security gate closed & locked at all times.
BBQ grill has 4 burners and a side stove connected to a propane pipe; guests must use provided igniter to ignite the burners and stove. The propane fire pit can also do some cooking, but guests are responsible for filling the propane tank if it is empty.
Extra toys, bikes, legos, puzzles, Lincoln logs/building toys, dolls, coloring books, crayons, board games, etc. are available upon request; guests are also welcome to use our huge trampoline, as well as our kids' craft station inside our home. There is a surf board, a picnic mat, 2 ice chests, & some portable chairs stored in our shed for guests who want to go to the beaches.
For extra safety, please turn on the sprinkler associated with the water slide in order to avoid skin abrasion.
Please do not expect to have a full indoor kitchen or kitchenette exclusive for your use (full kitchen with oven is shared with host's family); city currently won't allow us to have a second kitchen. Previous guests have used our outdoor grill with an attached stove to cook and an outside water hose to wash.
Our house is nestled at the end of a private, quiet cul-de-sac in the higher end of Buena Park.
House is within walking distance to Cypress College, but far enough to get away from the noise or traffic of college life; Cypress College has a nice public track to jog and to play tennis. Behind our house is a park that belongs to a private HOA, but our high fence provides extra privacy for guests.
Also, our place is close enough to amusements parks, but far enough to get away from busy traffic congestion & loud city noise (i.e. fireworks), especially during high season; uber/lyft your way to local amusement parks without having to pay for additional parking or to wait in long lines looking for parking.
Due to ample shade provided by surrounding trees, our backyard has a semi-resort-cabin-like feeling; we are also in the process of planting additional fruit trees & grow some herbs/plants, and guests are welcome to eat them whenever they are in season. When we have time (we can't guarantee they'll be installed when guests check-in), we plan to install two hammocks for guests to use, one underneath the tree and the other one underneath the patio; these hammocks were purchased directly from Viet Nam.
About our neighbors--most are long-time, conservative residents, closely knit. Therefore, neighbors are extremely wary of strangers, including us who just moved in July 2018. In 2018, we have had two incidences of neighbors taking pictures of our guests because our guests did not follow our house rule in parking on our driveway; they were hanging out on the street curb. One neighbor has already moved out, but there is another neighbor seeking evidence of any bad behavior caused by our guests to give to city to shut us down. Please do not hang out on the driveway or cul-de-sac! If you do catch any neighbors taking pictures of you, please take out your camera, take a picture of them taking your picture, and give them to us so we can submit them to our lawyer. You are welcome to tell them to stop, they don't have your permission to take pictures of you, and that what they are doing will be reported to police.
Other than that, this neighborhood is the higher-end of Buena Park, very safe, full of at-home moms, professionals, retired couples, and at-home workers, but some of them seem to have too much time on their hands and nosed themselves into other peoples' businesses. We recommend you keep to yourselves and park only on our driveway; be friendly and respectful, but please do not answer any questions from neighbors, since they are seeking information to shut us down!
