Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of TV and magazine features including the Today Show, "Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse IV", Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and numerous others, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits? The treehouse consists of 3 separate areas - Mind, Body and Spirit - each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below. Mind - The Sitting Room: Antique furnishings and artifacts including 80 year old windows of pressed butterfly wings, a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw, fossils, a couch and chairs, its a great place to read or talk and has a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods... Body - The Bedroom: Sleeps 2. What could be better than a great bed up in the trees? The super comfortable double bed is outfitted with the world's best bedding: Parachute. These cozy linens are made of 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and pure Linen. They're Oeko-Tex certified, meaning no harmful chemicals or softening synthetics have been used. You'll have your best night's sleep ever here at the Treehouse! The bed is equipped with wheels so it can either be inside the room or rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below. Haiku Fan from Big Ass Fans is silent and better than an air conditioner to keep you cool in summer. The mattress has a warmer for cool nights and the tin roof makes rain storms something to be enjoyed. Spirit - The Hammock Deck: Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery, the deck surrounds the spirited "Old Man", a 165 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree--the largest of the 7 trees that support the treehouse suite and watch over its guests. BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. And while very private, you can see other residential buildings from the treehouses.. While you may hear the occasional siren, normal neighborhood noise, the devil's hair dryer (leaf blower) or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. We have been listing with airbnb since July '09 and have had the most reservations of any of their listings! So you've got to plan ahead if you want to stay in the Mushroom. We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; - ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 9-11 months in advance. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out. We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, a toaster oven, an Electric Water Kettle, a hot plate, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If you stay here for more than 1 night, you may need to change the pee bucket. We will do it for you if you want, but we do need you to pay attention to the pee level so it doesn't overflow! If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; - ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $160. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. $360. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of at least $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre the Forest Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 300 - 700 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 130 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do not allow pets, we will consider requests to allow 1 small pet with prior approval and acceptance of rules and policies. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is to give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down the stairs facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, they’ll only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car with high ground clearance to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls.

We own a private residential compound with four (4) separate private units on the ground floor (a main house, a 2-bedroom unit, a 1-bedroom pool house and 1-studio unit), all with their own separate and private entrances from the gated parking area. The main house is on the second and third floors where we, Dennis and Alex live with our dog, Apollo. The pool house has all the comforts of home. It is private and cozy and you have the entire unit all to yourself. It has a full kitchen, 1 bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with a futon-bed, bathroom, and a private back yard patio with a BBQ grill. Beautiful Mt. Washington, next to LA's trendiest neighborhood Eagle Rock and centrally located in the heart of Los Angeles. Just minutes from Downtown LA, Convention Center, Hollywood, Pasadena, Burbank and Glendale. Since we are on the hillside, there are no amenities or shops at a short walking distance, but there are several restaurants, stores and many local spots just a short drive from the house. Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!

My spacious two-bedroom home has everything you need for your NYC trip. On the first floor, but set above street level, I am offering two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen with a dining/living area, plus ROKU tv, WIFI, and washer/dryer. While Brooklyn is very large, I am walking distance to several major train/bus routes that run into Manhattan for all the popular sites: Freedom Tower, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square. There is so much culture and excitement to be experienced!
Both bedrooms are very quiet, as they are located in the rear of the house. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the second bedroom has a twin size bed. The new bathroom has a large shower, but no tub, with strong water pressure. The kitchen/living/dining area are set in an open plan setup. French doors that open to a sunroom separate open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The sunroom is shared with me who has my own entrance. It is stocked with many types of plants to create a truly alive and lush area. Cats and one dog have and continue to live on this site. They live with the host an do sit in the shared sunrooms. No matter how much preparation, if you are sensitive to pets this place is probably isn't the best choice.
The Highland Park section of East New York has a very suburban feel. I am very close to Upper Highland Park which sits on the highest elevation of Brooklyn. It has a more 'open' feel. But, like the suburbs the evenings are very quiet.

Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.

Home is completely updated and remodeled - with great air conditioning for our hot summer months. Enjoy our warm, heated pool during our stay - then lay out and enjoy tanning yourself for a great Southern California experience. Home is small and 100% private. Hello! Welcome! Please read my entire listing before messaging, as I have comprehensive coverage for most all questions! Additionally, I do adhere to all of my rules & guidelines! No exceptions! Rules are: 2 guest maximum, no pets, no children of any age, no self check in, no visitors during your stay, etc.. The AirBnB app does not show what I do not allow, only what I do! Please check this listing on a desktop computer, so you understand what I do allow/do not allow before messaging. No parties/events/weddings on my property. HOME DETAILS: Come relax up in Topanga & get away! 1 Bedroom Guest House located in the Heart of the canyon for nightly & weekly rentals! The entire property has waterfalls, ponds & a tropical themed environment. The guest house has 1 queen sized bed & can accommodate a maximum of two guests comfortably. There is also a kitchenette with mini fridge, stovetop, complete with coffee maker & filters, dishes/pots/pans & washer/dryer on site (the washer/dryer is for stays of 5+ days). Unit does not have A/C, but has ceiling fans in the bedroom, along with sliding glass & screen doors in each room allowing for ventilation. PARKING: 1 carport parking spot is available, along with extra parking along the road. The road is paved, but has no sidewalks alongside. CELL PHONE & INTERNET: Wireless internet is available, along with a cell signal booster. Reception can be spotty up in the mountains, and is not guaranteed; although most all guests have not had issues. NEIGHBORHOOD: Topanga is a charming, countryside neighborhood adjacent to Los Angeles & very safe. I've lived here for over 30 years, and never had any issues. COMMUTE: My house is about 15 minutes drive from Santa Monica, 20 minutes from Malibu & 15 minutes to Woodland Hills, 30 minutes to LAX. Without traffic, I'm about 35 minutes from Hollywood, 40 minutes from downtown, 25 minutes to West Los Angeles/Culver City. To get a better idea of commute, I'm central in Topanga, so if you check a map for Topanga, CA & get directions from there, you'll be able to estimate distances. ARE THERE ANIMALS ON THE PROPERTY? No. I do not allow any animals in the guest house, nor are there any on the property (for allergy & personal health needs, I cannot allow animals on the property). For those who need petsitting: LADogma is a great local option where dogs stay comfortably in a home in Topanga. Just look up "LADogma" for more info. IS THIS A FAMILY RENTAL? My rental is Adults Only - No children of any age allowed (including infants)! Due to a unique property structure, with many stone stairways, ponds, firepit, size of guest house, etc., I remain firm on my policy of (2) adult guests maximum per stay. Many families try to message me asking for an exception; but I do remain firm on this rule, due to liability & safety concerns. I'm happy to host just parents for a romantic getaway, though! ACCESSIBILITY: There are several long flights of stone steps leading up to the guesthouse. This shouldn't be a problem for most people (and i'm happy to help with luggage), but if you have trouble with stairs, this may not be the place for you. I've had multiple pregnant women manage the stairs late in their term, but these stairs may also be a concern for pregnant women on bed rest. SENSITIVE? Sheets are 100% cotton, 600 thread count - I use all natural laundry detergents, for those of you with allergy concerns! I also provide organic soaps, all cotton towels & robes. Please do let me know if you have allergies though, so I can be extra scent-sitive! SURFING? If you'd like this to be a surf getaway, I'm happy to loan you one of my boards with your security deposit acting as collateral! I have kayaks & stand-up paddle boards available for use - but note that you'll need a truck or SUV to get them down to the beach (I don't allow guests to tie the boards to a standard car, even with a roof rack - I don't want my boards to be damaged). I've been surfing & diving for many years locally, and would be happy to give you some pointers on location, etc.. PHOTOGRAPHER? If you are a photographer looking to use my property as a location for a shoot, please note that I don't include shoots as part of a "package" deal when staying at the guest house. If you try to sneak a shoot on my property, this will result in a negative rating, possible immediate ejection from my property and/or loss of security deposit! Please mention any relevant photography in your message, as I would require that we arrange a shoot outside of AirBnB. I use my properties as locations, so a location fee would be required, along with standard insurance, etc.. Just across the way from Mimosa, there is a natural foods store & a little mini market. Santa Monica & Malibu are a beautiful 15 minute drive along Pacific Coast Highway. Suggested local restaurants would be Inn of the Seventh Ray, Froggy's & Cholada Thai food. Great restaurants in Malibu are Geoffrey's, Nobu Sushi & Cafe Habana. The closest large grocery store is a Von's Market, located on Sunset Blvd. There's also a natural foods market & deli in Malibu, named PC Greens. Additionally, a local raw smoothie & juice bar has opened recently, about a 5 minute drive from my place called Topanga Living Cafe in Topanga!

The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We invite you to share our little piece of mountain serenity with us. My family lives in a log cabin right next to our tiny house. The tiny house is located down a set of stairs. Please be prepared to use stairs if you stay with us. The hot tub shares a deck with our house but is yours to use exclusively for the duration of your visit. Guests have a designated parking spot with a painted sign and a private courtyard with a small waterfall feature and twinkle lights for a relaxing intimate outdoor meal and/or smoking. All smoking (420 included) is allowed outside only. In our snow season, 4 wheel drive vehicle (or other winter ready type of vehicle) is recommended and sometimes necessary. (Generally, it is only necessary during or following winter storms) Kitchenette includes: mini fridge (no freezer), small toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker, induction cook top with pan/lid/spatula, plates and utensils, bowls, cups/glasses, and a cutting board. There is a sink in the kitchen as well. As with most mountain homes, our tiny cabin does not have forced air conditioning. However, it usually gets quite cool in the evening in the summertime so open windows and the ceiling fan do the job of keeping you cool! (Of course, I can't promise cool evenings; I can just let you know what's typical for our area.)
Our place is located in a small rustic mountain neighborhood. It was a mining community back in the 1920s. We have some close neighbors, but they keep to themselves. Our neighbors are very particular about everyone driving slow on our dirt roads as they are not county maintained, so please follow the 10 mph speed limit signs. Watch for children at play, wildlife, and ATV/UTV travel on the dirt roads. Things to do nearby: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a rock structure near Morrison, Colorado, 10 miles west of Denver, where concerts are given in the open-air amphitheatre. Did you know: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon - the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. Staunton State Park - 12102 S Elk Creek Rd, Pine, CO Staunton State Park is a mosaic of low grasslands, rocky foothills, soaring granite cliffs, and lush stream corridors. From high grassy meadows at 8,100 feet to soaring granite cliffs over 10,000 feet, the park's geology, soils, water features, and climate create a rich variety of habitats. Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator for cabin lights and to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), some cell phone service, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. We have an amazing propane heated outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. We have an outdoor fire pit a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen we put out only during the warmer months). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. Bring your own battery operated fans in the summer. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Bed linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in, but you may want to bring your own drinking water. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books for your entertainment. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, Induction Hot Plate, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. The treehouse is at the very edge of Walker Pond. You are welcome to enjoy our 40 acres of forest/wetland, go canoeing in our canoe, soak in the custom made cedar hot tub, or just enjoy having a private holiday. The treehouse is located just 5 minutes from downtown Newport and is 22 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort.
Walker Pond treehouse is partially supported by two White Pines that are along the shoreline of Walker Pond. The treehouse has a main level, consisting of a kitchen area, sitting space, and a bathroom. Climb the winding tree staircase to the bedroom into the bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling exposed with hand hewn cedar rafters. This room has a queen size bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted LCD TV, reading bench, and a tiny closet. There is plenty of glass and windows, so you get the best views of the pond and field. Sunny/breezy afternoons bring the sparkle of the pond into the treehouse. It really is beautiful! Unique in design, this rustic treehouse will be fully functioning with all the essentials provided to make your stay comfortable. Also included, there will be a private deck overlooking the pond, a rustic hot tub, mini kitchen, grill, TV, etc. You will have access to the land and pond, so we invite you to go on a nature walk or go canoeing. You never know what kinds of animals you might see! So far we have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, geese, ducks, heron, owls, otter, huge turtles, fish, and frogs.... just to name a few. Get your camera ready! While we border 20 acres of farmland, you may often see cows grazing. They are very peaceful and may greet you if they see that you are offering them grass.
Newport is a beautiful town that is growing and it is the gateway between New England and Canada. The city lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog. On the western side of the 30-mile lake rises Owl’s Head. Its 3,360 foot summit offers impressive views. There is plenty to do and see while visiting. From bicycling, fishing, hunting, paddling, sailing, boating, horseback riding to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Newport, Vermont is a mecca of outdoor recreation year round. Newport also has fine great restaurants on the water and artisan local foods for all you foodies out there. Jay Peak Mountain and Resort is only 17 miles away. You can visit any time of the year. Of course, they have skiing and riding, but all year round they have an indoor water park, ice arena, spa, restaurants, and shopping.

This rustic and simple one-room cabin was built around 1902 and was used as a fishing camp. We've taken it out of the deep woods and relocated it where it now overlooks the south side of our 12 acre pond. It is now outfitted with electricity, wood stove and there is ample kitchen and counter space with propane stove and double sink, as well as a small dorm-sized refrigerator. When temperatures are warm during late spring and summer, there will be running water in the cabin and a hot water heater. The water is delicious and clean for drinking. Don't worry about bringing bottled water! A sweet little outdoor shower out back is for your pleasure in the summer, as well. The driveway is 2.6 miles long and is a maintained but sometimes pretty rugged dirt road. Four-wheel drive is not necessary in the summer time. There is an outhouse about 125 ft or so from the cabin. Shower and flush toilets are available in my house, which is just down the lane (about 200ft away). There is also an outdoor shower behind the cabin now too! The pond is great for swimming and boating. We have a flat bottomed row boat and canoe for you to use while you're here. An aqua-zip line is available for those with a sense of adventure. Please take not that fishing is not allowed on the pond, as we are protecting a small fragile wild Brook trout population. A small market garden and greenhouse are in operation nearby and there are three other houses on our part of the mountain, all on our property. It is never very busy or loud, but there may, once in a while, be other people enjoying the pond, beach and boats. I do just want to mention that the cabin is deep in the woods up a mountain, and hosts all the wilds have to offer. You may have glimpses of moose and mouse, frogs and flies; by the nature of living here we play host to them all. In the interest of full disclosure, I want you to know so that you are aware that critters are here in our area and sometimes in our living spaces. Just about everyone has embraced them so far but some who have not ventured in the woods before have become surprised to see a mouse which made them uncomfortable to be around. I can provide instruction if you are unfamiliar. Water is provided in two 4 gal jugs for washing up and will need to be heated on the stove or in the electric kettle. If you need more, you can refil the jugs in my house. Please think of staying here as a rustic, off-the-beaten path retreat. Winter driving experience on icy and snowy roads is a plus as the conditions and weather varies considerably! 4-wheel drive is a must in the winter. This piece of Earth is a beautiful place for people to relax and play, and that is why I'd like to share this space with you. Come for a weekend, or come for a while.

Located on a first floor of my family house, guest studio has a separate entrance, ‘en-suite’ bathroom, washer, dryer & small kitchenette. PLEASE NOTICE: room is SMALL (10 x 12 feet), but has Quinn size bed:) Little kitchenette has a coffee machine, microwave, electric water kettle, toaster, and all necessary dishes and glasses. I always keep the kitchenette stocked up with coffee, tea, sugar, cream etc. You have full access of the back yard and the pool area to enjoy the warm LA weather and over sized pool. If you rent a car, you can park on a street in front of our house-unrestricted parking 24/7. Enjoy your vacation on a budget. ADULTS ONLY!
HANCOCK PARK Long before Beverly Hills was 'Beverly Hills', there was Hancock Park, one of the oldest, most affluent, architecturally well-preserved and star-studded neighborhoods in Los Angeles. A free standing 500 sq/ft 1 bedroom rustic Spanish split level guest house with private entrance, manicured terraced landscaping and a spacious light filled interior with all the modern amenities. The open plan living space contains a fully equipped efficiency kitchen with chef's range, stainless steel under-counter refrigerator, marble countertops, imported tile, and a contemporary living area with convertible sleeping sofa for additional accommodation, eating/working island, and entertainment center containing 33" tv with DirecTV, Netflix, and high speed wifi. The lower split level contains a custom tiled bathroom with heated floors, large shower, and a floor to ceiling mirror. Feel the bubbles warming up cold feet in the hot tub in the yard after a winter hike. This European-style studio features new, stylish furniture and fixtures, making efficient use of the space, with fascinating, eclectic touches throughout.
Newly completed, this fun studio is the **1st floor** of a 2 story, 2 unit, guest house- Lovingly referred to as The Fat Squirrel Guest House. This European style studio space features new furniture and fixtures, a brand new bathroom, and a modern, clean feeling that manages to be non-stuffy! There is a simple wet bar, with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker (coffee and tea are provided), french press, toaster, and electric water kettle. The set-up suits travelers that prefer eating out, or making simple meals while spending most of their time exploring. Other amenities include: A blow dryer, Iron & small ironing board, shampoo, condition, body wash, and make-up removing wipes. Netflix, Hulu (with the HBO channel), and Amazon Prime are ready to go on the smart TV. If you'd like to rent a movie on Amazon, send me a text/message and I can turn the movie on for you for the stated rental price. Being an efficient space, the single sink is located in the main studio room, and NOT the bathroom. There is a comfortable memory foam queen size bed, and the couch/lounger is a twin. Bedding to make the couch to a bed is located in the basket next to the TV. Well lit, off road parking is located in the alley, right next to the guest house. Once the booking is confirmed, you will have access to photos of the parking area, entry door, and general directions like how to access the alley). This is my second summer season of hosting! Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our newly-renovated, cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the grayest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. It's best suited for guests seeking space to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland--Division Street and Hawthorne Blvd. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. Our location is best for guests wanting to experience Portland from a local's perspective; If you'd rather be in closer proximity to downtown touristy areas, our location may not be the best fit. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater, Blue Star Donuts, Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore, as well as a myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is animal- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 5yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood!

Surrounded by towering pines and set back in a 20-acre farm estate in Concord, you feel like you are in the mountains of Asheville. Minutes from historic downtown Concord and 20 minutes from the race track and 40 minutes from the Charlotte Airport.
The Tree House is a large, one-room space featuring a Queen bed with hand-crafted furnishings and decor. There is also a private deck for enjoying your morning coffee looking out over the trees. The space includes A/C and heat, all linens - including swim towels and robes- basic housewares, a mini fridge, and a coffee & tea bar. There is a shared Eco Bathroom located close by that includes an amazing outdoor rainforest shower as well as Men's and a Women's eco-toilets and a sink. Enjoy outdoor dining with a private propane grill, table and chairs adjacent to your space. We provide a variety of pots and pans, as well as oil and basic seasonings. You will have access to our beautiful above-ground pool and deck (open June-September) and an 8 person hot tub and a fire pit (open October-April). We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the pressures of everyday life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
This is a beautiful, private cabin on a secluded stretch of the Baptism River, near the shore of Lake Superior. We built the place ourselves in 1995, using largely local materials and energy-saving building techniques (passive solar, extra insulation, etc.) There is a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and den downstairs, and a loft bedroom (with a stunning view) upstairs; outside the sliding glass doors is a deck with a view of the woods and the music of the rushing water below. An artesian well provides delicious, clean, running water, and an infrared sauna helps you deepen your relaxation. The bedroom has a queen size bed, and you could accommodate an extra person on the fold-out couch (though we don't recommend more than three adults, or two adults plus younger kids). We have central heat and a shower, a full kitchen and high-speed Internet access. We enjoy renting the cabin to responsible people who love the woods as much as we do; this is NOT a commercial venture, but a way to share the beauty of the north woods on a budget, and we keep the price low by relying on you to leave it as you found it and don't charge a cleaning fee. (Think of it more like visiting your own cabin than a hotel or resort.) If you prefer not to clean when you depart, please check out one of the many other beautiful places to stay in the area. We can't do one-night booking; again, please keep in mind that this is not one of those listings (which are great!) that function like a bed & breakfast or hotel. It's simply our cabin that we share with you, and while a neighbor helps with maintenance, there is no linen service etc. Well behaved, nondestructive pets are welcome. Quiet hours must be strictly honored from 10PM to 7AM. No discharge of firearms or fireworks is allowed. Fires are only allowed in the fire ring by the pond. Not down by the river. No other homes are visible or audible from the cabin, even though it is only a 10-minute drive from small and historic Finland, MN. Great hiking nearby includes the Lake Superior Hiking Trail; a Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry point is just 20 minutes away in Isabella. The river offers a soothing backdrop as well as the challenge, for the fishermen and -women among you, of brook trout. Swimming is possible at several gorgeous swimming holes nearby. Rustic yet affordable one room cabin with wood stove near old-town and Cache La Poudre river trail. We have loaner bikes too! It’s not for everyone so please read full description. People of color and LGBTQ friendly.
Rustic one-room cabin with wood stove near the Cache La Poudre River and Old Town Fort Collins. Private access and parking in safe and quiet semi-rural neighborhood. Kids and pets welcome in our large fenced yard complete with shaded patio with outdoor fireplace, gardens, 1 dog and 3 chickens. We're an adventurous couple with two daughters who like to cook, garden, raft, kayak, rock climb, backpack, hike, flyfish, run, knit, and mountain bike. We've lived in Colorado our entire lives and over 20 years in Fort Collins and can give you lots of great suggestions for the area. If you're flying in there's no need to rent a car since we're just one block from a bus stop or you can borrow one of our townie bikes and take the Poudre River trail 2.5 miles to Old Town, Odell or Equinox Breweries. Take the trail 3 miles west to Laporte to hear some honky-tonk or bluegrass at the Swing Station. The cabin has a comfy queen sized bed and we can add a cot or inflatable mattress upon request. Guests can access the bathroom and shower through the back door of the main house (just 5 feet away). The cabin also has WIFI, electricity and electric heater (but no AC). You're welcome to use the dining room, kitchen, stove and fridge in main house. Pets are welcome, there's even a doggy-door so your pet can go in and out as it pleases. Please add each pet as an additional guest. Kayakers and rafters are welcome! We're only 15 minutes to some of the best whitewater in Colorado. The Cache La Poudre River is protected as one of the last "Wild and Scenic" rivers in the United States. From DIA take Greenride or Supershuttle right to our doorstep ~$48.
We live on a gravel road in a semi-rural part of town surrounded by open space great for running dogs. There's horses across the road and we often see deer. Guests often remark about the number of stars that are visible.
