We'll meet at the Black Sand Box office or at the beach, best for the day. At the surfschool van we grab our gear and head out to a secluded area with plenty of great beginner waves. The lesson starts on the sand, where I’ll teach you surf techniques and the important things you need to know to be safe and successful at surfing. I’ll also cover local surf culture and etiquette so that you stay on the right side of your fellow surfers. When ready, we’ll paddle out and spend the rest of our time in the ocean, enjoying the Azorean waves! Before every lesson I look at the surf forecast and make sure it is safe for first timers. Have in mind that the MEETING POINT/LOCATION and START TIME for this experience might vary depending on the surf conditions and the low tide of the day. Other things to note Black Sand Box (Surf) is licensed by the Government of the Azores as a tourist maritime operator (OMT-16/2018). We have insurances of civil liability and personal accident!

A experiência é composta por duas partes, em que na primeira é feita uma visita guiada à nossa exploração de cabras de leite, onde os hóspedes irão interagir e conhecer todos os animais adultos e suas crias. Também será explicado todo o maneio e cuidados que temos na Quinta. No fim desta visita irá haver uma pequena surpresa aos visitantes preparada por nós e pelos nossos animais. Na segunda parte da experiência irá ser oferecido um delicioso pequeno almoço típico composto por diversos tipos de pães, doces caseiros e queijos, entre outras iguarias tradicionais da nossa terra. Be prepared for most typical Azorean experience. Two in one, typical food & thermal pools. One of the great experience on the island is the thermal pools, you don't want to miss them. At night is when the place is more quiet, the air temperature is more adequate and the atmosphere is magical. I want to take you to the one most iconing thermal pools from the island, Poça da Beija. This experience will start in the end of the day until around midnight, be prepared for the best evening of your trip. So far seems good, there is more, before the thermal pools we will visit where locals cook the famous "cozido"(stew) using the heat from the volcano and this is what you gonna get for your dinner. On the top of all that you can have a cup of local tea made in one of the natural hot springs before we return home, all this surounded with a mysterious atmosphere created with the steam coming from the boilers of valley of Furnas. For better understanding you have to come... Starting from Ponta Delgada at 18h00-18:30 pm. Pick up at any place situated inside the city of Ponta Delgada. Bring towels and swimsuit for the Hot Springs baths. In this cruise, you will sail till the best point to see the sunset, depending on the weather/sea/wind conditions it´s possible to swim in the ocean just before the sunset, from June to August. With our professional crew, you can also learn a little bit about the sailing process. It will be offered some snacks with regional products and white wine or other drinks ( not im 2021). In the way back you will see the city by night ( if possible)! Tips are welcome to the crew!

Our first spot of the tour we can see two of the best beaches in the country for surfing (Santa Barbara beach and Monte Verde beach). We also can see a wide view of the entire city of Ribeira Grande and the beautiful green mountains. Our nexts spots you will see fantastic caves sculpted by our volcanoes, the Ribeirinha lighthouse, the old abandoned "Porto de Santa Iria", a beach hidden that is only visited by surfers most passionate about the sport, and finally the famous "Praia dos Moinhos" in Porto Formoso. Explore the highlights of the Western half of São Miguel island in a small group van tour (8 people max) led by a local expert guide! From two of the islands breathtaking crater lakes in Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo, to a wild waterfall, amazing cliffs and rock formations around the coast, and ample views of the island from high, you’ll take more incredible varied pictures than you ever did in a single day then! Start with a visit to the picturesque town center of Ribeira Grande, followed by the most beautiful cliffs of the island on the North coast. Then we completely change the scenery to get to inner parts of the island and see the gorgeous waterfall of Salto do Cabrito. We then drive to the top of Fogo Volcano to enjoy views of the awe-inspiring and most pristine of the crater lakes of São Miguel. From the top of the mountain, the views of the island’s outline are also breathtaking. After a nice meal to get the energy levels back up, we head to Sete Cidades, where you’ll understand why this is considered the postcard of the Azores, with views from different perspectives over the famous twin lakes! We end the day in Mosteiros, at the western coast of the island, famous by its natural pools in the lava rocks and set of charming small islets. Join me for the top hiking places in São Miguel Island such as waterfalls, Lagoa Do Fogo, Salto Do Cabrito, Nordeste and Furnas. These hikes vary from easy to difficult, you’ll need hiking shoes and of course water! It would take an average of 5 days to get a hiking tour of the whole island. Usually we would start hiking at 9am but times are flexible. Lunch is also available upon request.

In this cruise, you will sail till the best point to see the sunset, depending on the weather/sea/wind conditions it´s possible to swim in the ocean just before the sunset, from June to August. Obtendo-se assim uma experiência única de aprendizagem e partilha através do processo decorativo da cerâmica, com enquadramento teórico sobre azulejaria tradicional. In the afternoon we continue our journey East, first stopping at the dazzling waterfall of Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Moving is vital to their ongoing health. In the wild, these animals can be found traveling 10 to 20 kilometers a day as they wander around grazing. And that’s where we need your help! These daily hiking adventures keep our big-eared friends healthy, while unleashing their natural curiosity and wonder. On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to stroll alongside Gabriela, Joaquin de Horta, Esperanca, Edward, and the always-entertaining Shetland pony, Kiwi! Na nossa quinta oferecemos aos nossos hóspedes um regresso ao passado Açoriano. A visita começa pela explicação das plantações presentes na ilha, inclusive algumas que caíram em desuso. Durante toda a visita os hóspedes têm contacto com os mais variados animais da quinta, tendo aí a possibilidade de ordenhar uma vaca. Por fim, levamos os nossos hóspedes à nossa casa museu e aqui podem conhecer como era o nosso "antigamente".
